Frustration & time not worth the miles
Time is money and I’ve wasted enough trying to purchase Airbnb gift cards. Tried 3 different cards multiple times on multiple days and messaged help desk for assistance. The instruction back was inaccurate and even after updating address credit card still rejected. I already get 5.5 miles between chase sapphire and delta so to hell with United. And to boot united downgraded rewards travel starting November 15. Even when buying Starbucks cards, have to copy card and pin into Starbucks app and then transfer the card to main card to accumulate the Starbucks rewards. Pretty stupid when all I want is a $2 coffee.
Cost me 800 miles...
If I could give zero stars, I would. I have been a mileage plus customer for years, have used the online mileage shopping system for purchases, and have never had issues.
I recently made a $400 plus in store purchase and used the app. I selected “in store” before my purchase. The miles never were deposited.
I reached out online and mileage plus DENIED my request to have them manually deposited. I am frustrated bc I even chose the store I did and downloaded the app that day while on spotty mall wifi because it was a qualifying partner and I wanted the 800 flyer miles. Sorely disappointed. It’s s good concept, but too glitchy.
Would be good if it worked, but never seems to. Always get directed to send an email and they take forever to answer, and never can fix the continuing problems. The answer is always they don’t see a problem with the account. But the transaction never go through. Can’t believe that United is still pushing this and hoping that people maybe don’t use it enough to see what a horrible piece of programming this is.
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
