Best milk tracking app I’ve found
I do love this app and use it religiously through the day to track my pumping amts and what I place in storage. There are some glitches, but those are easily overlooked since the app is so great at allowing details to be entered. I especially like that you can specify the desire metrics and the graph function over time is a great visualization.
To developers, these are following possible improvement opportunities: 1) on graph page, it defaults to one option and does not remember my preference to see it charted as total volume the next time I open the app 2) max allowable volume on the slide bar is 160 mL. This is on add bag option. So then I have to save the entry and then open it and enter a higher amount via manual entry function 3) this may have been corrected. Previously, when adding bag to storage like freezer, it would just duplicate volume from last entry, despite different amy chosen in slide bar. Therefore, manual correction was needed on the subsequent page.
I downloaded 4 different free breastmilk tracking apps and I found this one to fit my needs in terms of the level of detail in options.
Thank you developers for creating this for pumping mommies. We need all the help we can get.
Thank you so much for the kind review. I'm glad Milk Stash is the app that worked best for you. We've released a new version, 1.1.6, that responds to some of your feedback. 1) It now remembers which chart you were last looking at when you return to the stats page. 2) It's not very obvious, but if you tap edit in the top right while looking at a stash, you can change the maximum amount. 3) I believe 1.1.6 solves that issue. If you manage to see it again, could you let us know at email@example.com?
Not user friendly or practical for existing stash
I was really excited when I first opened this app and saw I could note different locations for my stash and transfer from one to the other. Right now I pump and it goes in the fridge... at the end of the day I condense down and bag everything and put into the freezer... then every couple days I take 2 days worth and combine them into a gallon ziplock and move to the deep freezer. Once I go back to work in a 1.5 months I will also have to add a cooler location. So the multi locations option was awesome!
Where this app falls short... and short enough that I cannot use it, is that I have a good stash already existing. There doesn’t seem to be a way for me to add my existing stash to the deep freezer in the app. The option I see to be able to remotely accommodate an existing stash is if I sit and enter each bag I have... but with 600oz bagged I’m not about to do that.
Awesome idea and start... but app could be better.
Hi. Thanks for trying the app. Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner as we have a solution for your problem that may have worked for you. You can import you existing stash via spreadsheet. https://app.milkstash.com/app/import
Good to start with, incorrect info
I downloaded this so I could keep track of my already very large stash because I don’t want to keep recounting over 850+ ounces when I add more blocks from forgetting how many there already was. It would be nice if there was an option to start out with an already set amount because I’m not about to individually enter over 200 4 ounce bags that I already have stashed. Also, I really really hope there’s not new moms going off of your deep freeze expiration date of just over a month, as milk is good for 8-12 months in the deep freeze, and 6-8 months in a regular freezer. It would be so sad for a mom to think she needs to dump her frozen milk after a month. Correct information would be a plus.
