MindNode 2 is now available. MindNode 2 is the newest version of MindNode Pro and adds support for notes, connection labels and MyMindNode. Please only purchase MindNode Pro if you need support for OS X Mavericks.
MindNode Pro is a powerful and intuitive mind mapping application. Its focus and flexibility make it the perfect tool for brainstorming and organizing your life - and iCloud sharing means you always have your mind maps with you.
MindNode lets you lay out your notes and tasks visually so you can get a bird's-eye view of your project. The clutter-free interface lets you concentrate on generating and connecting ideas, and an infinitely expanding canvas means that no matter how big or complicated your project gets, MindNode can keep up.
• Create new nodes with one click
• Create cross connections between otherwise unrelated nodes
• Drag and drop to move or reconnect nodes
• Add images and links to files or webpages
• Create multiple mind maps on one canvas
• Infinitely large canvas expands to keep up with your ideas
• Fullscreen mode lets you brainstorm without distractions
What's New in Version 1.11.3
This version adds support for importing the new MindNode Next file format (used by MindNode 2.0 for Mac and MindNode 4.0 for iOS).
Taking a page from Realmac developers playbook—DO NOT BUY!
I had previousy written a review for this app singing its praises for being a wonderful tool for capturing ideas and for concept mind mapping. With the release of the version 2.0 for the app, I find myself again writing a review but not to sing the praises of the developers, instead to criticise a very underhanded move on their part. I have been a loyal user of MindNode Pro and have at every opportunity encouraged my fellow classmates to purchase and use this app for its simplicity and ability to outline material in a clean and clear format. Having paying customers pay yet again for the 2.0 release from the 1.11.2 version is a tactic that Realmac developers use with their app Clear and on principle I did not purchase thier “new” app. The developers have likely alienated a solid and loyal user base with this update. The once loyal user and advocate of this app as I once was, will now be sure to not let anyone use this app for the unscrupulous tactic to monitise on new and exisiting users of the app. What are you have done in 2.0 is I am sure some fantastic coding to improve performance and end user experience, but it is not that significant to warrant to have your existing paid users to have to hand over $20 for this upgrade. You guys at IdeasOnCanvas may very well have shot the goose that laid your golden egg. Rectify before you end up on the losing side with your revnue tactic.
What? I have to pay for MORE???
What the heck? I paid my water bill back in 1950, my paperboy 10 years ago and the kid that mows my lawn 5 years ago ONCE and I never had to pay for them to keep working for me! So what is WRONG with these developers trying to stay in business???? The NERVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If I bought this app last year, and I liked all the features it offered then and it was worth the money for how it was then…if they add more features and improve it, that shouldn't mean I have to pay more just because they worked more! AMIRIGHT???
Good heck people, write your own dang software you winey slugs.
Don’t bother with MindNode 2 either
Else you, too, will be taken in by this developer, as others here have noted. As CNET found in reviewing the differences between MindNode 1 and MindNode Pro, "MindNode Pro is based on the same code-base as MindNode and provides additional functionality that help to improve your productivity.” So does this mean that every added feature requires users to keep buying it?
When "we" users bought Pro, we assumed we were getting the top-of-the-line product. Apparently not. This bait-and-switch practice is unethical, plain and simple. Try XMind, free for everything you get here with powerful enhancements at reasonable pricing levels. And you only pay once for the life of the product.
This is not the way to keep loyal customers, IdeasOnCanvas.
