Plunge into the revolutionary realm of in-car infotainment. The "MINI Connected" option embodies a unique symbiosis of driver, MINI and the online world.
Simply connect your iPhone to the USB port of your MINI and the MINI Controller, the high-definition display and the vehicle's sound system let you experience the various functions of this app.
To find out about compatibility with iPhones and any other information, check out www.MINI.com/connectivity.
Driving Excitement: The Driving Excitement Analyser assesses just how well you have your MINI under control. Score Experience Points (XP) for accelerating, braking, changing gear and steering. Increase your skills step-by-step in every category. Additional features such as Condition Check, Force Meter and Sport Instruments reveal even more unique opportunities for even more fun when driving your MINI.
MINIMALISM: This feature determines your personal high score with the MINIMALISM Analyser while you drive. The All Star Timer is automatically activated as soon as you have earned five stars in each of the MINIMALISM categories. The MINIMALISM Analyser analyses driving style to assess how efficiently the driver accelerates, brakes and changes gear and awards or subtracts MINIMALISM points for each positive or negative assessment.
Dynamic Music: Your MINI plays the music you like. You can choose from several tracks composed exclusively for MINI that adapt in real-time to your driving style.
Mission Control: Your MINI can tell you the temperature outside, politely remind to fasten your seat belt or provide other interesting information - all depending on the situation.
Web radio: Use your iPhone to receive countless online radio stations in your MINI. There are search functions for selecting genres, countries or your favourite stations.
Online search: A search function that helps you to find anything you are looking for - from pizzas to cinemas - and enters the results directly in the optional MINI Navigation System.
Twitter: Displays the latest status messages, personal favourites or community trends in the car. It also allows the sending of predefined messages that can access vehicle information while driving.
foursquare: with foursquare, you can stay in contact with your friends, collect points and badges and share your adventures. Let the foursquare community give you tips about new places waiting to be discovered.
Calendar: Displays calendar entries in the car and lets you phone the subscriber, if required. It also lets you listen to vocalised details of appointments over the car audio system. Addresses stored in the calendar can also be transferred directly to the optional navigation system as destinations.
News: With this feature, you have constant and immediate access to the latest news from your RSS News Feeds subscription.
Requirements and tips: User registration is required before activating the app for use. WIFI link recommended for loading additional content. Several functions are only available when the end device is connected to a MINI model with the "MINI Connected" option. The range of features and functions may differ from version to version and country to country. As selected functions are dependent on connections to third party providers, it is possible that they may not be available at all times and in the same form. A broadband connection is required. Any extra costs resulting from this (e.g. roaming charges) are a part of the customer's contract with the network provider. Please also take care to observe country-specific preconditions and requirements. Limited functionality may be experienced as a result of insufficient bandwidth or volume-based bandwidth limitation (bandwidth capping) on the part of the network provider. As a result of this, MINI can provide no guarantee for the unlimited compatibility and functionality of your mobile device when connected with the vehicle interface.
What's New in Version 2.8

• Removed Facebook feature due to Facebook policy
• Minor bug fixes
Needs cleanup, etc.
And now, with the latest update, the feature removal continues? I thought the whole point of something like mini connected is that features could be added to the car over time through a software update. Instead, BMW keeps taking away features. At this point, if you are reading this review to decide if you should get the Connected hardware, don't bother.
0 support, connection with customers
As a mini fan in disgusted with the amount of crap like this. It's been over a year now, yet this app failed to deliver basic promises Mini and BMW made. No support for modern phones like iPhone 6 Plus. Car itself does not support iOS 8 or any new iPhones. Just sad to see this level of unprofessionalism and lack of understanding what Mini fans really want/like. My next car will not be Mini.
Useful, but needs improvement.
Having never had anything remotely like this in previous vehicles, including my previous MINI, I've enjoyed many parts of it, but compared to most other tech we're all so used to today, it needs a whole lot of improvements. The social media side needs a lot more detail. You can pull up a Twitter feed, but can view pictures, or even see the ends of some Tweets. Facebook seems to have been removed as well. The Dynamic Music app is an awesome idea, but only incredibly basic stick beats are available. It would be awesome if it changed music in you own music library on your phone according to you driving habits. I've also on rare occasion had the app freeze up mid drive, and my only work-around has been to unplug and re-plug my phone. Many apps used in Connected I've installed deliberately to use in my car, but haven't gotten into. Such as Stitcher, Glympse, etc. Some more popular apps such as Intagram would be great. That being said, I'm a very techie person and do still use it on a daily basis. The most interesting for me is the web radio app, that allows you to search for what seems like any radio station on the planet by continent, country, and city/area, complete with small country flags for visuals. I have satellite radio in my MINI as well, but web radio covers a HUGE amount more. Mission Control is also a neat feature that can really make the car feel British, but it can be tricky to get started, and few and far between with vocals. This app has SO much potential, but really needs to be fleshed out. It seems to be something that was created as a feature with good intentions, but paid little attention in it's time after. Worth a download, but probably won't be used incredibly much by most without some updates and love.
