Customer Reviews

Great App - Works Exactly As Described!!

MiniKeePass has always worked perfectly for me and it does exactly what the description says it can do.

Many of the negative reviews complain about issues syncing to their cloud storage (e.g. Dropbox) but it's clear from reading the description that MiniKeePass doesn't have automatic cloud sync functionality. What it says is you can export to and from Dropbox or any other cloud storage app.

How it works using Dropbox as the example:

In Dropbox browse to the KeePass File you want to open in MiniKeePass. With the file open click option - Export > Open In > Copy to MiniKeePass.

This creates a copy of the file on your phone that only MiniKeePass can access. You can open and use this KeePass repository in MiniKeePass but any changes you make are made to this local copy and won't sync automatically.

You can manually sync or overwrite the original file with the one modified in MiniKeePass but opening the file and clicking the arrow then "Import with Dropbox". It will prompt you to choose the location and you can overwrite the copy in Dropbox with the copy you modified in MiniKeePass.

Hope that clears this up for some of you. The developer worked hard to create a great app that does exactly what it's supposed to and is free so don't be so quick to complain and criticise before you read the description and know if the app does what you think it should.

Simple, Secure, and Reliable.

First of all ONLY use the recommended KeePass ports from the KeePass website!!!! Don't trust any others IMO!!

Ok, so this app is on the trusted list on the main KeePass website where you can download the PC official version of KeePass. So that by itself should tell you something of how trusted it is. That's a good thing.

This app is just as secure as the main KeePass program for your desktop/laptop computer. Between having the option to use a finger print and then enter a password with lots of different types of characters, the level of security is pretty top notch for a password locker.

The interface is about as basic as they come which is great. Everything is so simple to use and navigate. Entering data is super easy. Being able to import/export password files is a nice thing also.

Don't keep your password file on cloud storage!! If you do then you are an idiot. That is about the dumbest thing you could ever do. So stop it, now. Seriously. Not even kidding. I make a physical backup of my password file whenever I update it from my PC or iPhone and put it on a 1gb USB drive and then I lock that into my big gun safe which is literally built into my wall with concrete and big bolts. It would take an act of God to break that thing open or steal it. You get the idea? Keep your password file secure!! Be smart about it!

Great app, one fatal flaw

I love the app. It does exactly what it promised to do, keep a copy of all of my passwords close at hand. My only problem is that I'm unable to share the database from my iphone. I can share it from my iPad to my iPhone, but I don't always carry the iPad with me so any updates done to the phone need to be re-entered on the iPad IF I remember to do so ...

We've lost data because of this! My wife also carries a copy of our database and occasionally updates it, but forgets to copy the changes to the iPad before I push a new copy of the database. The PC version of KeePass (version 2.0) can reconsile differences between databases and even sync changes made by different users at the same time. I'd be happy if MiniKeePass would just tell me a newer version exists ...
