Not intutive, misleading cost
Cost first: unlike most apps I'm familiar with, buying Minimalist on one iOS device does not give it to you on a second iOS device, much less on an OSX device. So If you decide to get the upgrade/Pro versions, you have to pay for each one separately and you have to buy the desktop verion separately as well - but it's not "Pro" like the iOS versions. All this should be made clear and it's not.
As for being intuitve, it just isn't, and there's not much useful help. "It's not Mac; it's Microsoft." You can reorder items, but not task lists. You cannot edit either once they are entered. (Update: I learned by accident that tapping on my trackpad with two fingers pops up an edit menu for both a list and and item.) And for the life of me, I can't figure out how to delete empty lists. (Edit: the two finger tap menu also permits deleting.)
I bought the iMac & the iOS apps to sync to do notes across three devices: an iMac, an iPhone and an iPad Pro. So far the syncing seems to work. And the menubar icon is useful.
All in all, it's not a whole lot more useful than Reminders, except for the menu icon, which I find very useful.
Excellent todo list
Great app! I use this every day because it's perfect for keeping organized and productive without wasting time on setting up unnecessary todo attributes. It provides what's needed and nothing more. Sync is working great, just make sure devices have the icloud setting turned on. At first I had only the list names and no items but found the sync setting was off. After turning on sync works perfectly.
I wanted to like this but...
I wanted to like this, and bought both the iPhone and desktop versions, but the basics of creating lists and entering info simply are not intuitive ... I can't remember if it is a pull down right left swipe or tap and it's just more hassle than it's worth. Sorry.
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
