The Minnesota Wildflowers Info. app was developed to serve as an offline compliment to the renowned website: MinnesotaWildflowers.info.
The full version currently contains profiles for 1,614 plants with over 14,000 images covering:
•69 Ferns & Fern Allies
Each profile contains a detailed description with insight into how species are distinguished from similar species, a distribution map for Minnesota, a table of traits and general info, and images. A complete list of plants that are known to occur in MN is also included.
A layman friendly, multi-access key assists with the identification of plants. As traits are selected in the multi-access key, plants that do not have the trait are eliminated and traits that do not serve to narrow the results are grayed out. A glossary, that can be accessed through the multi-access key, describes and illustrates the traits used in the multi-access key.
As an additional feature to assist with plant identification, two plant profiles can be compared at once, side-by-side, by turning on the “Comparison View” setting within the app.

Best wildflower app for Minnesota
The new app incorporates the best of their wonderful website. It has beautiful photos and accurate descriptions and information. As one who is just learning about plants, I have always relied on their website, but now it is good to have it all one touch away and not need web access, which is often lacking in the north woods. It loads quickly and is easy to use.
Handy guide for the field
The MWI app is a handy guide for wildflowers when you are out in the field, especially when you don’t have access to the internet. A whole lot lighter weight than a book.
I love the app, but a save or favorite feature would be nice!
I absolutely love the app, it’s worth every penny. I love all of the search features. The only thing I would add is a feature that allows you to save species pages for later reference.
Developer Response ,
Thank you for the review. Adding a feature that allows a user to create lists of favorites is something I have been considering adding for some time now. Your request has convinced me to do so. Keep an eye out for it in a future update in the next month.
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
