Essential, life changing, and helpful for filing taxes

Essential for tracking with minimal time input. This is the stuff of financial champions. Learn your spending habits. Optimize and maximize your profits by realizing your limitations and budgets. Gaining business intelligence on your finances is crucial and yet seemingly buried by all other daily distractions.

I use the app as a 25 y.o. who is hoping to his next career pebble as a contractor. I track moving costs and and tax related things like unreimbursed work expenses so later on, I can query the info easily. A minute here and there saves me 10 minutes 1 year down the road.

Personally, I benefited greatly last tax year using Mint when itemizing. I simply exported into an excel spreadsheet in CSV... Then I manipulated the data to find my answers. Beats guessing like many people, people tend to underestimate these type of things. Likewise, guessing doesn't hold up in audits.

Great App, Needs One Improvement

This is a simple app to learn and use. If you ever used a stand-alone financial software from the popular companies, you will quickly adapt to Mint. Plus , the ability to see your finances for any browser, any computer or device - brilliant!

Two suggestions knocked of a star from the rating - although very minor annoyances. 1) With weekends and holidays, it can sometimes take several days to see a transaction clear the bank. Your budget will be out of whack until the transactions clear, and you can correct the category or merchant name -- if you remember to follow up. 2) The budget section does not show income. If your income fluctuates, you must use the web version to make adjustments. And the web version of Mint on a tablet or phone is HORRIBLE!!! Find a desktop or laptop t make those adjustments.

A minor opportunity for an otherwise great app.

Learning how to budget made easy!

You know how people are nominated in high school to be the Most Likely To or Least Likely To? I would have totally been nominated and won by a landslide for Least Likely To Budget Or Even Know How Or Where To Begin Budgeting. Numbers intimidate me and money does even more. I recently remarried after being single for a long time and blending our finances hasn't been easy. Mint has allowed me to monitor what's coming in and what's going out; easily adjusting our budgets for each category. This has been our first solid month using Mint and I'm very pleased. It's super user friendly and convenient to get luxury expenses under control. We can finally answer the ongoing, endless questions, "How did we spend that much?" or "Where did that last pay period go?" Thank you Mint!
