Description

Synthesis without the spaghetti.
From the creators of Grain Science and Sylo Synth (used by Gorillaz and The Flaming Lips).
A powerful hybrid synthesiser with a magical interface.

Pick from 180 built-in patches — or design your own. Start with additive synthesis, wavetables, or a sophisticated mix. Add rich modulation, effects and filters, controlled by powerful LFOs and beyond. Make vibrant leads, vast soundscapes, compelling basses, warm bath or deep sea pads, and so much more.

The sound is complex, but the controls are not. Synth engine and UI both offer clarity and power — you’re holding in your hands a miracle of touch-screen technology, why limit it to the switches and dials of decades-old hardware?

Mitosynth takes a simple approach: With a tap, almost any dial can be switched out for a graph with automation controls, including LFOs, 5-stage DADSR envelopes, ingenious noise generator, step sequencer, BPM sync — and MIDI, of course. Plus XY pads for the hands-on approach.

And you can combine them. Use one automation to control which (or how much) of two others affect a setting. Many of the automation controls are themselves automatable. You can repeat this, going to deeper levels. LFOception!

The flexible FX chain means no messing with complicated routing tables, or stringing cables around until your screen looks like a plate of pasta: Slot the distortion, filter, delay and other effects you want, in the order you want. Simple!

Powerful like a modular synth. Clean and straightforward like a modern iOS app.

Amazing

Could be best synth if few crashes and some new graphics and easier file import were available.
Let’s give Mito and GScience some love and new features...please

I have all your full audio apps as well and am shocked not to have direct export to your own synth apps! 🙀

Developer Response ,

Thanks for your feedback! Regarding direct export, did you know that on iPad you can drag-and-drop projects from our audio editors (Hokusai and Ferrite) into the Mitosynth Audio Library? (Depending what version of iOS you're using, you might run into an issue with this, but an update is in beta testing to address this, and should be available soon).

Was a useful app when IAA/ Audiobus ruled

Sadly, now it’s just a toy since all the “new” apps like NanoStudio 2 use AU. AU is right there in the app like a vsti. I’m only purchasing apps that have this feature going forward. Unfortunately, this app is legacy. I’ll never use it anymore outside of boredom. Hopefully they will implement AU, but I doubt it. They could, Synth One is saying it’s in the works for their app. We’ll see I guess.

So so

Can load samples, and has a waveform painter, both of which are nice. But has no FM modulators or noise generators. So it lacks some features. Sounds overall sound kind of cheap, not sure why. Also, things seemed kind of glitchy. Keys getting stuck, or you reload the project and it sounds different, or you remove a reverb but you still hear it. Doesn't appear that the dev is adding new features anymore.
