Customer Reviews

Quality has improved but..

MLB has done a good job this year with a smooth roll out for the 2015 season.
I do, however, have a couple of issues with the format.
For starters, the new game recap articles are spilt between both team's writers and it is quite possibly the worst idea so far for the app. I enjoying reading an article with a little bit of bias in it. After all, I am following a certain team, I need to feel a connection with the person writing it or it's not interesting.

My second issue is, the cut4 articles are garbage. It's a failed attempt to blend mix pop culture with the sport. I understand the need for a more youthful following, but that is not the way to go about it. The external links are also very annoying. It's almost as bad as those click bait articles you find all over social media. Please remove cut4 from the articles section and replace them with real baseball news.

What happened?

I rarely ever write reviews and I've been an iPhone owner since day 1 and upgrade even year and use a lot of apps. That said I'm terribly disappointed in the MLB app this year. It's performance on my iPhone 6 plus has been terrible. The picture quality even on my 100mbps home wifi is 480p SD at best. Try and watch it somewhere without wifi and I end up getting kicked off and sent to the audio only feed. And then I'm lucky if I can even keep the audio feed on. I live in a major city with good LTE pretty much anywhere I'm at and for some reason I can't get this app to work like it has in years past. I'll watch baseball highlights of the new ESPN app on my phone and they look phenomenal. Cmon MLB. FIGURE IT OUT!

Great app, but too long an audio delay!!

Update review on April 17:

I am updating my review from 5 to 1 star in hopes that the developers will fix the really bad broadcast audio delay...almost 45 seconds...between the audio feed and Gameday. l I like to watch the Gameday pitch count while listening to the audio, and, unfortunately, the count is usually 1 to 2 pitches ahead of the audio. A small delay from the live broadcast is OK, but why is there such a BIG difference between the internet feed for your PC and this app? And PLEASE, PLEASE stop interrupting the audio feeds, during pitching changes, with ads!!!! The Internet feed from my PC has none of these issues, why can't this app work like the PC? Please fix these issues and I will give you back my 5 star review.

I love this app and use it everyday during baseball season....well worth the money, in my opinion!! But what I really appreciate most is how fast the developers fixed the audio bug; nice to see that they actually listen to negative feedback and are willing to quickly do something about it. Looking forward to a great 2015 season! At Bat
