Slot machine, stay away.
Extremely inconsistent. I played for about 8 hours all together, and there were times where I never had to move the bat to hit hr. And then there were times that I couldn’t hit the ball at all. The longer you play for free, the more complicated everything gets. It is still fun, but how well you play the game doesn’t matter. The only thing that matters is the game wants to make a pay out (like a slot machine). When the game wants to pay, you can’t keep the ball in the park. But, when it doesn’t want to pay, you can’t hit anything but the front of the fence. I started to notice when I won my first 5 derbys. All of the sudden everything got way more complicated. Garbage, and by my standards, unethical. And what is up with the breaking balls? Why is the pitcher throwing curveballs and pitches inside and impossible to hit. Realistically the derby pitcher is on your side. Garbage. Game also has an accelerated clock in derby mode.
Without spending any money I have come to the conclusion that I may have better equipment and players but the results will be just as aggravating.
For anyone who plays multiplayer be skeptical, there is no guarantee that you are actually playing a real person. You could be playing against a server designed to beat you with the same shady practices as the single player mode does.
Such wasted potential...
On paper this game should be phenomenal, the game play good, and you boost all your players and gear....that is where all the compliments end. This game is a blatent grab you money scam. Unless you want to grind for hours and hours on end, you have to pay for MLB bucks to get any bat/glove/hitter/stadium worth using. When you are actually up to bat, unless you use coins to purchase eagle eye, good luck hitting half the pitches, because unlike batting practice, which essentially a hr derby is, the pitcher will start lobbing in curve balls. Furthermore, the servers are so bad on this game for multiplayer that half the time I try playing, after I purchase boosts with coins, something goes wrong with the server and exits you out of multiplayer-and do you get compensated? Hahahaha....
Now just a few days ago, I try playing and I was unable to access multiplayer, it logged me off and I literally lost everything...players I unlocked, coins, mlb bucks, purchases, gone. It would be great if there were ANY feedback about why the app bugged out, but no explanation, no updates, anything...
Everything costs too much!
I don't understand why the developers decided to make everything in this game/app so expensive. If you don't wish to spend actual money there's really no way to make any actual progress in this game. You would have to play non-stop for months and months(maybe even longer) in order to even get close to being able to upgrade players. I mean the app itself is fun but it's not so fun that I feel moved to spend real money which I assume is how most people feel. And you gotta think the app makers are smart enough to know this and yet they still seem to be holding out for us to make actual purchases otherwise you'd think they would lower the amount of in-game currency it takes to get new anything. I mean come on. These guys are so cheap that you can't even switch ballparks. You get one stadium and if you get sick of playing on the same field over and over again you're out of luck unless you decide to cough up $5 for a new one.
