The Mobile Passport app speeds you through U.S. Customs and Border Protection at over 20 major U.S. airports and 1 U.S. cruise port.
Officially authorized by U.S. Customs and Border Protection, MOBILE PASSPORT allows travelers to submit their passport control and customs declaration information via their iPhone or iPad and bypass the regular line to enter the United States. This app effectively replaces the traditional blue-and-white paper declaration form required of all travelers entering the U.S. by air or sea.
1. Complete your profile with basic passport information.
2. Answer CBP’s questions about your trip.
3. Submit your information UPON YOUR ARRIVAL and get a receipt from CBP.
4. Follow the signs to the dedicated Mobile Passport Control lane.
5. Scan your receipt and show your passport to the CBP officer.

Best app and time-saver ever. Period.
I downloaded this app based on ads for it while waiting in line to clear customs at JFK yesterday. Download and setup time took about 5 minutes total. Once I was registered (it even scans your passport with the camera for instant data load to the app to make even quicker), my fiancé and I jumped into the "mobile passport control" line that was the same line used by diplomats. We had no one in front of us. They even lifted the rope for us like diplomats at customs and we created our own two person line and were called by customs agents next (felt like a diamond medallion member checking in at delta). We cleared passport control, picked up checked bags, AND cleared customs in literally less than 15 minutes without waiting in a single line (we also got lucky how quickly our bags came off the flight). Saved at least 2+ hours based on how crazy the lines looked. I would recommend this app 6 stars if possible and higher than any app I've ever used before. You are making a huge mistake if you do not use this app!
Worked well; suggestions for developer
I entered my data while still on the plane, while offline. But you cannot save it or submit it, the app does not let you. Once the plane landed, I had to hurry to reenter all the data, I barely had enough time while being busy with collecting my carry on. The screens are confusing with too much text and poorly designed user interface. Every screen has a different layout, inconsistent logic. Do the people who designed it actually tested it while traveling? The app is still a huge plus, at least at SFO because the line at the mobile pass was one-person long, while the alternative was probably a couple hundred people in line at the self service kiosks and then another line for the actual border officer.
Improvements are needed!!! Anybody listening? Can you guys run an actual user study?
Works Well - Info is Secure too!
I recently used this app upon entering the USA at Newark airport. I found it easy to use and flawless. The best part is that it really expedited processing. While others waited in line with their paper forms, my wife and I zipped right through. The very fastest experience ever!
I was concerned with one review (from May 11, 2017) suggesting that this app exposes my data to other parties and is insecure. I immediately read the vendor's Privacy Policy and found no reference to sharing my info with third parties. I then wrote to the company. Their reply satisfied my concern:
"The Mobile Passport app does not share your personal information with third parties (outside of CBP if you chose to use the app) nor is your personal data saved on our system. If you set up a Profile on the app with your passport data and decide to transmit it securely to CBP for review, your receipt and data will expire four hours after submission. The only place your data is saved is on your user device as a Profile, which is encrypted. The app gives you the option of storing your data there or deleting it after your trip."
