By far the best RSS reader

I've tried several of the other RSS readers out there and by far I believe this one is the best. I love how it syncs flawlessly with Google Reader and has the ability to cache articles for offline reading and is quite fast. It still has potential to grow and I'm hoping that the developer will put out an update to make it on par with the iOS version (which I also love), such as the ability to add feeds directly from the app. Right now one still must go to the Google Reader website. This is only a minor complaint however and by far I love the ease of use and look and feel. It does everything I want an RSS reader to do! Also, it has the ability to download the full post of some summary feeds and can search for previous posts. Oh, and also it would be nice to have the ability to e-amil the full article, right now it is a link to the article. However overall it is well worth it for the great features!

A couple improvements

Honestly, Reeder has set the bar here, but I was looking for another application to simultaneously manage a separate Google Reader account. Really liking the iPhone app, but this one is missing some features. First off - PLEASE let me widen more the columns than what you're currently allowing... especially since I'm on a large screen. To force fixed width on these columns is nearly a deal-breaker.

Having better distinction of feeds when viewing all unread items in a folder would be very helpful (show some separation or distinction)

Next, MORE keyboard / arrow support. I hate using a mouse, and prefer to use keystrokes to manage things (much quicker). Please allow arrowing between the articles, and then back between feeds. Arrow support everwhere! (And seriously, 3-key strokes are necessary to mark items as read?? )

An in-app browser would be nice for quick-viewing of content.

Tool tips for your icons across the top (what the hell does that square and smileyface mean?)

All that said, this is a pretty decent reader. Really like the image previews.

UPDATE: You are unable to search through your feeds - this is a major limitation for, so now I'm putting this at a 2 star. (This is a reason that free trials would be helpful here in the App Store - miss those)

Needs for feature parity with iPad version

I bought the Mac app sight-unseen, based on how much I like the iPad app. But I now regret that after finding that not only does it NOT have a built-in web browser like it's iPad brother, there's no "Mark These Items as Read" option - meaning that you can only select the entire feed as read, and not just the number of items you loaded in a batch. That makes this app fairly useless to me, since I'd be forced to leave the articles in the batch I scanned through as unread, or else I'd have to mark items as read that I didn't get to scan yet. That means I get to see the items I wanted to mark as read all over again the next time I try to read feeds.
