"At Molekule, we’ve reinvented the air purifier using proprietary nanotechnology that destroys pollutants instead of just collecting them.

Beautiful outside, groundbreaking inside, Molekule eliminates allergens, bacteria, mold, viruses, airborne chemicals and more, leaving nothing but pure air behind.

Unlike HEPA filters, where pollutants gather, grow and escape back into the air, our PECO technology uses a light activated Nano-Filter to destroy pollutants 1,000 times smaller than a HEPA can handle.

A healthy lifestyle begins with improving something you do every second of every day — breathe. Now imagine your living room’s air being replaced every hour. With Molekule’s 360 degree air intake, which pulls in all pollutants and pushes clean air throughout — 600 square feet worth — it’s reality.

The Molekule app works with our air purifier to connect your device to the cloud and enable these great features:

Configure your Molekule device to your specific air cleaning needs by selecting Room Size, Number of Pets, Age of House and more.

Your Molekule device has three modes: Boost, Auto and Silent. Toggle between modes by using your app or the device to control the airflow as your needs change.
Boost mode: Your device runs at its maximum speed. Use this mode when you’re in need of a strong clean, like after dusting and cleaning.
Auto mode: Your device runs at the optimal speed to maintain your room air quality. Leave it running all day for a steady clean.
Silent mode: In this mode, the amount of air flowing through your Molekule is reduced, though your device still cleans the air effectively.

For those sensitive to light while sleeping, Dark mode turns off the light in the device. We recommend using this mode only as necessary, since the light enables and excites the Nano-Filter, allowing for it to break down pollutants. In Dark mode, your Nano-Filter will function similar to a conventional filter, capturing pollutants in the air. Only when the light is on, is it able to destroy pollutants from your air.

Your Molekule device comes with two filters: a Pre-Filter and a Nano-Filter. The Pre-Filter should be replaced every three months, and the Nano-Filter every six months. With your filter subscription, we will send you filter replacements automatically. Once you replace a filter, you can reset your filter status in the Molekule app.

Great filter terrible support

The filter seems to be doing a good job but what I can’t understand is how in the heck a tech company can take almost a year to come up with a software update to allow your phone to connect. When I tried to contact them the only answer I got was “Well it still works as a filter”, yes this may be true but I have severe allergies and have been dealing with mold and dust at our house. The filter is suppose to tell me when it needs replacing... YOU CANT GET A STATUS UPDATE OF THR FILTER CARTRIDGES IF YOU CANT CONNECT TO YOUR PHONE. The filter itself on its screen won’t even tell you the filter status. I’d expect this crap from a $100 filter but not on an item that is as expensive as an average mortgage payment. Honestly I regret even buying it and would love to have the company take this off of my hands but I seems to get the brush off every time I reach out. I’m never one to ever write a bad review for a company but with almost a year of this it’s just too much!!

Poor UX

For $800, I really expect a premium experience. The device freezes on Boost Cleaning Mode, doesn’t wake up from the device once it’s frozen, and I physically have to unplug the device. I have no way of measuring the air quality through the purifier - I literally have to trust that it’s working. Why can’t it simply tell me there’s poor or good air quality? I separately own a room sensor from Elgato, and while my Molekule is running, the air quality reading from my room sensor still shows poor/inferior air quality.

The WiFi issue seems to be common, and you really don’t need the app to use the device, but what’s problematic about the device is that attempting to connect with it from the app can potentially freeze the device.

At this price point, I could own 2-3 Dyson air purifiers that are much more transparent about its cleaning capability and offer a better UX for the price point.

Terrible app quality

The air filter may be decent, but it is ruined by the horrible quality and lack of functionality in the molekule app. 90% of the time the app cannot connect to the filter over the network, and on the rare occasion when it does, the functionality is way behind other competitors which track and graph air quality, have sophisticated schedulers, etc. Even on basic things like fan speed there are only 3 settings: pretty much off, normal sorta-noisy, and jet-engine-in-your-bedroom (aka “boost”), instead of much more granular fan speed control that one expects from a VERY expensive device relative to others in the market. Molekule should fire the software team before they sink the company, honestly. We bought 3 molekule devices and one Airmega 400s recently during the fires to replace some older units we had, and I am WAY happier with the Airmega and their app at this point...
