Fantastic App!
I used to be a YNAB owner until they went to a subscription-based model. I then tried MoneyDance for a year until I formatted my computer and, perhaps as my mistake, didn't backup my MoneyDance files.
While MoneyDance had nice charts and did all I wanted. It was a Java-based app without cool features like a proper mobile and Apple Watch app. It's also very bad UI/UX that they tell you to enable Dropbox syncing, only to find out it was just to sync transactions, and not actually backup my financial files.
I looked at alternatives and MoneyWiz was the best. No subscription model, native macOS, iOS, and watchOS apps, online syncing, and great support.
I couldn't be happier with it so far. Zero crashes, zero data inconsistencies my financial info is always available wherever I am. Great integration with operating systems, reminders, account types, charts, graphs, etc.
If you're looking to go with a new financial app, want a native app, or one that doesn't require subscriptions. Give this a shot! 5 stars for my favorite financial app so far :)
Smooth Transition
I have used SplashMoney to manage my finances since the days of Palm Pilot and then moved to iOS products. I found out that SplashMoney will no longer be supported by the developer with the next iOS release. So I researched what personal finance apps would be similar. I found MoneyWiz2 would provide all the functionality of SplashMoney and much more. I was able to export all my accounts and data from SplashMoney import to MoneyWiz2 with only minor adjustments. I love how MoneyWiz2 backs up to the cloud and syncs with all my devices, including the PC. MoneyWiz2 was a lifesaver to me!
Great App!
I used MoneyDance for several years and there were just too many problems with synching. I just randomly ran across this app and gave it a chance on both iOS and OSX. I have never looked back, this the VERY BEST of all of them (and believe me, I've tried them all!)
Syncing is perfect and quick. I love the format and options. I'm still discovering new and better ways to manage my finances. I don't use the "download from bank" feature so I can't speak to that. But, for managing my checking and savings accounts it's just about perfect!
