So cute! Would be my favorite but the ending!
I LOVED this game. I have been playing it nearly non stop for a couple of days. I love idle and clicker games and this one has some of the cutest and most satisfying art and design. Everything was going fine until I got to the end game.
Things slow down a lot once you get to the thrift planet, which is okay, a lot of idle games have humps like this that you have to get over to progress and the mysteries of what cute , cool and high earning monkeys kept me going.
The problem however, the reason this game gets two starts, is the truth of the final planet. Once you evolve your strongest monkeys on the third planet they fly to the fourth one where... they stop existing. You spin a while and get a couple diamonds and a purely cosmetic reward. No earnings modifier, no earnings at all! I went from earning hundreds of thousands of coins a second after days of grinding and watching ads to earning 3,000 cps. Even just a 1% bonus to all earnings or a discount in the monkey store would have made me feel better. But just nothing, just an achievement room and reset progress. I feel mislead.
It’s a good game but...
To be completely honest, it’s a good game but there is one huge problem. There is no evolution log. You can’t see which monkeys you have discovered and there is no shadowy preview of the monkeys to come. I, like many others, want to see the evolutions that are coming in the future. It keeps you motivated to keep going and gets you exited for that one evolution that no one knows. Another thing is that it need variety. Clicking a button and fusing monkeys is basically the only thing that you can do. I suggest that you add mini games or maybe a secret evolution that you have to solve puzzles to get to. Other than this I think the game has potential to be something amazing. You just have to embrace it.
Bland with potential
Great art and basic design is there for a merge style game but nothing else to make it standout. Some ideas
-environment customization ( buy items that do various things - produce coins, auto merge monkeys of certain levels, temporarily speed up production, upgrade or customize top tier monkeys you wish to keep to produce coins (prevent accidental merging of certain monkeys))
-hanger (add different upgradable rockets for quicker traversal, more monkeys per trip, and use in mini game idea below)
-mini games (easily sets up a “exploration mini game - select a monkey and a rocket and do an endless runner type through space, get coins/points for distance, have milestone planets to explore by landing monkeys on them to extract resources, set up stations on planets to unlock special monkeys you can find there)
-assignments ( set areas on each level to designate monkeys to certain tasks - one area focusing on coin production, one area for incubation/nursery to merge them into level 2 monkeys automatically, one for mechanical to fuel/maintain rockets for mini game, etc.)
Just a few ideas. The bones are there you just need to add a little meat to it for it to stand out and hold attention.
