Seeing your everyday exercise can help you think about your life in a new way. Start with small changes that can lead to a fitter lifestyle and healthier habits.
Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life. Moves has been designed to use GPS and other sensors sparingly. The app relies mostly on acceleration data, cell tower and Wi-Fi locations. The new Battery Saving Mode will further minimize battery consumption when stationary in a place.
What's New in Version 2.7.20
Stability improvements and bug fixes.
Used this app for more than 3 years and it seems like the programing keeps getting worse. I haven't consistently received morning updates for months even though I've tried re-applying the notification setting multiple times. The newest issue doesn't show the different circle sizes in the day summary view...they're all the same tiny size so I can't compare different days unless I drill down into the individual day. Also, it's been over a year since the Apple Watch first release and still no watch app. I want a watch app but I have so much data in this app (over 3 years worth) that I would really hate to lose all that content if I switched to a different step counter. Sure, the step counting part may not match what my watch counter says (that's what some other reviewers have said) but I can understand how difficult that programming might be to replicate....I just want basic app functionality to work as expected and intended. I hope some of this changes, otherwise I'll have to move on
Great logging tool
When Nike failed to track today's marathon, no problem because I had moves running in the background!
I keep the Moves app running in background always. I find it to be very useful in answering questions such as: how long did it take to hike to Delicate Arch from the car? or How long were we at the restaurant last week? or How long does it take to drive to the city? or What time did I arrive home?
Moves tracks it all, without a significant burden on battery.
My favorite feature? the maps; other tracking apps either use the gps or the don't have the same mapping abilities.
Good Background Tracking App; New Bugs
Been using this app for years to track my activities & exercise in the background. While not perfect, it's been helpful for recreating schedules, etc. Unfortunately, lately it's become flakey - indicating that I spent 2 hours someplace where I only spent 15 minutes and later that same day spent 20 minutes in the middle of the North Atlantic Ocean. Wouldn't expect that kind of bugs in a mature program. Hope they get it fixed & it will be 4-5 stars.
