Good But Requires Too Many Taps
As a big time movie fanatic I really appreciate what this app/tool offers. But, I've found that the way it's set up is very cumbersome and tiring.
If you're on a movie's page and want to add it to your collection, you tap the upper right button. Once tapped on your selection the menu disappears. But, wait, I also wanted to mark the movie as "Seen" and also rate it. This is where the app is highly annoying I think and counterintuitive. Because every selection I make in this important menu, as I said it disappears after each press. So I have to keep clicking the upper right icon like 3-4 times. When it should just be setup in my opinion, where you first make all of your selections for a movie (Seen/Unseen, Rate, Add to Collection, Add to Watchlist), then hit a "Done" button or something similar.
Doing it the way it's set up now is just tiring and an annoyance I think. And it's confusing to me, did the developers not think that users would want to make multiple selections for a movie before the menu disappears on them?
If this badly structured setting were changed I think the app might be worthy of five stars. Until then though I'm not sure I want to put up with to tiresome way of doing things enough to keep using this application.
Decent, but needs improvement
App works decently, but with just some slight tweaks, it could be a fantastic cataloging system. At times films I’ve added to my collection will disappear the next time I open the app, and I will have to re-add them. But that has improved over time. But one of it’s most annoying issues the cover art. It’s just really jarring to see cheap fan made art or odd images on some films instead of the film’s actual poster or at least a consistent style of cover art throughout. It just kinda cheapens it. Easy tweaks that would make it esthetically nicer to move through.
Like everyone else says... The UI/UX is a bit weak. You have to tap on the movie's metadata menu (which is a circle because...?) separately for each piece of data you wanna add... Waste of time. Just the most glaring example of the idiosyncratic design decisions sprinkled throughout.
You need another app just to read the comments? Seriously?!
The one missing feature for me is that there are no DVD/streaming release dates listed for movies in my watch list. I don't want to see everything in the theaters and I'd love to get a push notification when a movie is added to Netflix/iTunes/etc.
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
