Huge improvement
Version 3 is a far better app and is finally on par with the outstanding programming. The audio is much clearer, the metadata is far more complete, the pause button no longer keeps the data stream unknowingly running in the background, but rather stops the stream like in every other app. I wouldn't have even bothered to ask for CarPlay given the room for improvement from the previous version… but we got it anyway! If you listen to MPR on the phone, this is now the best platform, as it should be, and I can finally delete TuneIn and iHeartRadio.
Crash by committee
The recent update took a simple, focused app and turned it into a confused mess of differing interests with a interface that was clearly not well thought out.
Gone are a clear selection of channels and limited, but reliably functional controls. In its place are a stations selector hidden behind a hamburger menu, controls that are much smaller than previously used to make room for ads, functionality that confuses the focus of the app, and graphics that are clearly not created for high resolution devices.
This is not the update you are looking for. I will be reverting to the older version at the earliest opportunity.

I love that I'm still getting all the same stories and content that I've always gotten from my phone app as well as a few new features, however I'm feeling absolutely hounded by commercials. I understand mentioning companies that support MPR but when it's happening approximately every two minutes it's a bit much, it will interrupt a commercial for a commercial. I can't imagine how it's going to be during the fall member drive, I'm certain I will NOT be listening that week.
