- Fixed migration of photos and icons from version 4.x
- Fixed an issue that caused the current sort and current filters to be forgotten after closing, then force-closing mSecure
- Fixed a search bug that caused tapping “Return” to clear the search results
- Fixed a search crash that affected a select few of you
- Fixed a search bug that made it hard (okay, impossible) to get to the results at the bottom of your search when the keyboard was present
- Fixed a bug that caused the No Search Results view to look funny on iPad
- Fixed an issue that kept you from getting to the bottom of very long item notes
- Fixed a sync issue when a type or group was previously deleted and then a new type/group was created with the same name
- If the authentication QR code wasn’t downloaded for some reason, it will now be re-generated when you go into Settings > Account Settings
- Groups are now sorted alphabetically in the side menu, Edit Groups settings view, detail view and browser auto-capture view

All is well now
I didn't notice it mentioned, but you need to sign into the new version with a stronger password than was required on the prior version. That means when you migrate your data from the earlier version to the new one you have to sign into the new version with your new password and migrate the data file with the old one. Ta da! I wasted a lot of time before discovering that. And remember to activated the new one with the key that they emailed to you. I liked the old version, but will reserve judgement on the new one until I've used it more.
Update: I guess I must have created a new password in being asked to register with the company and that meant the old one stayed with the previous version's transferred file. I took the new app because I needed to have it on another device, which I hadn't done before. For my usage, the new app has the same info as the last one, just with a different look. Appearance wise I preferred the old look, with bolder type, dividing lines and more attractive icons. The new look is more of a minimalist thing. I was always happy with the old app and the new one is fine, once I figured it out. So I upgraded from 2 to 4 stars, deducting one star for appearances. Wi-fi sync will be a nice addition when it comes.
Are you serious?
This new app is a slap in the face to all previous msecure customers. I've probably purchased msecure 5+ times on multiple devices- so probably about $100 worth to mSeven. They disable real cloud syncing (dropbox, wifi etc)- crippling you to their fake "cloud servers" even though people have been ranting about it for the last 5 months- they launch a half-arse deployment, it sounds like a good percentage did not even receive notification that it was released (myself included). Now I login to the app with my "mSecure password" that is ironically kept in mSecure 3- as how would I remember it otherwise?? and I surely don't want a less secure one, as now my account is AVAILABLE ONLINE!!! And to top it off- since they disabled cloud syncing- how am I expected to get passwords into this new version?? Surely they don't expect me to manually reimport 300+ passwords? Or do they? Mseven, do you even care anymore, or is it all just $€£¥ anymore? If that is the case, I will take my $€£¥ somewhere else...
What's the advantage?
Assuming all the bugs are soon crushed, I'm left wondering what justifies the upgrade fee. Version 5 looks like a facelift. There is no killer feature that separates it from previous versions. The encryption algorithm is no doubt improved, but the old algorithm was good enough. On the down side, your data is now stored on mSecures servers. Safer? The old backup system (email, network) already ensured you could not lose your data. Before, I had to worry about being hacked. Now I have to worry about mSecure's servers being hacked. MSecure has yet to make their case for this upgrade. At least there is still no subscription required.
