What's New in Version 4.2
Freeze tracks - drastically reduces processing for tracks with IAA effects, and frees up the plugins for use on other tracks.
Loop Recording - allows continuous overwriting while it loops. Stop and undo after a good take.
Smaller audio buffers - sizes of 64 are now supported for low latency monitoring.
Rewritten audio engine for perfectly clean audio quality.
Volume/pan adjustments are filtered and interpolated, no 'zippering'.
Compressor uses exponential gain reduction metering.
Long-Touch zipped song project icon now has 'Open in' button for sharing the zip.
Final mixdown now uses loop markers as song start and end.
Final mixdown won't overwrite older mixdowns with same name.
All sorting/ordering uses numeric sort (Song, Shared, Inputs, IAA effects, generators, instruments).
Silence rendered to IAA plugins when doing mixdown/copy operation, to flush out buffers.
Wi-Fi web server lists songs in same order as shown in multitrack.
Track and bin download filenames now contain the song name as prefix.
Fix an iPhone 6S+ bug with missing tabs (Export, Shared, and Upgrades).
Fix iOS 9 bug with 2 finger pinch zooming sometimes popping back to another zoom level.
Fix retina displays sometimes not able to open the Hotbox with a Long-Touch.
Fix an Audiobus monitoring bug where no sound would be heard unless 'Input Monitoring' was on.
Fix a bug when drag reordering 3 or more IAA track plugins.
New Audiobus lib should fix the samplerate issues on iPhone 6S with internal speaker/mic.
Fix a buffer size bug on cold start.
Fix lights on compressor gain reduction meter being stuck sometimes when turning it off.
4.1 Fix an iPhone 6S+ bug with unresponsive menu items.

Rock Solid 8 Track Recording on my iPhone 6s Plus - Super Cool!
I recently decided to research what it would take to record 8 tracks of my band, live on our gigs with equipment already in my possession. I concluded that I could use the Inserts on my Yamaha MGP16X mixer as Direct Outs to send eight channels of audio, pre-fader and pre-eq, to my Focusrite Scarlett 18i6 USB audio interface. I’ve also purchased some specialized Insert Jack/Direct Out cables to accomplish this.
The 18i6 is connected to my iPhone 6s Plus via the Lightning CCK (Camera Connection Kit). But, what app should I use to capture this audio in real time? After disappointing experiences with several recording apps, I suddenly remembered that I had purchased the MultiTrack DAW app but had never tried it because my previous live recordings used the RODE iXY-L stereo mic paired either with the RODE Rec app or Apogee’s MetaRecorder.
After working with MultiTrack DAW for several hours of test recordings and transfers, I’m convinced that I will get reliable, high quality, consistent results on my band’s gigs which will very easily load into Logic Pro X on my MacBook Pro for mixing and mastering.
I’m really pleased to discover how powerful yet simple MultiTrack DAW is to use. Thank you for creating such a well thought out, flexible and reliable multi-track recording solution for iOS.
Easy to Use and Great Sound
When I first started using MultitrackDAW I wasn't exactly sure how it all worked, though much was obvious and intuitive. To my surprise the manual was a quick and easy read and made me an instant expert. Other DAWs boast about their advanced features but this one is intuitive to work with once you learn the basic command to tap and hold, which brings up a menu--then just slide to the option you want. The sound quality is impeccable.
I spent a lot of money on a couple of other DAW apps but I have exclusively used this one--it's so easy. The Audiobus and IAA implementations are advanced. It has automatically supported every audio interface I have plugged into my iPhone and iPad, and I've tried several.
The only thing I wish it had was MIDI sync with other apps and devices. I've been able to make do by putting count-in notes on the tracks, so I've been able to line-up every track accurately, especially thanks to the snap feature.
The snap feature is powerful. By setting Multitrack DAW to the same tempo as the audio, clips can be sized precisely--perfect for creating loops to use in other apps.
Best DAW ever
Honestly I almost like this app for its simplicity but incredible depth more than most desktop DAWs. Have recorded entire albums and mixed/mastered them on this. Rock solid construction, almost never crashes, great UI, offers 1.4ms buffer latency which is fastest to date! This is a DAW for casual and serious audiophiles alike. Don't bother with garageband, ntrack, fruity loops or multitrack studio. I've tried them all. This is the one.
