Munchkin Level Counter

Now all you iPhone-using munchkins can get an unfair, yet completely legal, advantage when you play Munchkin or Munchkin Quest!
The Level Counter keeps track of your level (duh). It also rolls a six-sided die (and doesn't cheat). But best of all . . . once per game, you get a Boon . . . an in-game advantage to help you kill the monsters, steal the treasure, and stab your buddy. There are almost 150 different Boons, all illustrated by John Kovalic. The higher your level when you ask for your Boon, the better it's likely to be. And when you reach the winning level, it plays a fanfare. Your friends will hate you . . .
Bonus features include:
• Kill-O-Meter screen to keep track of combat scores.
• Counters for Chez Geek and SPANC (Space Pirate Amazon Ninja Catgirls) illustrated with art from the games.
• A very flexible interface for creating your own custom counters.
This app is NOT a stand-alone game! It is a game aid for the Munchkin card games and Munchkin Quest board games by Steve Jackson Games. Munchkin is the dungeon experience . . . with none of that stupid roleplaying stuff. Visit http://www.worldofmunchkin.com/ to find out more about Munchkin!
What's New in Version 1.3
Fixed a bug with switching from boon view to another tab (and back again).
My friends hated this app!
So, I thought it would be fun to have because I get the boon during the game, but as soon as I explained this to my friends when we started to play, they refused to let me use it because they said that it was unfair to everyone else. You definately need to make this app so it works for multiple people, rather than just for one person. So, I spent $4.99 and didn't even get to use it because everyone hated that it just benefited me. Steve Jackson Games, don't know if you even look at these, but consider making it work for everyone so everyone can benefit from boons rather than just one person. I am sure the ratings would go up. I know I would change mine to 3 stars. Just wish I knew how my friends would react to this app before I bought, but such is life. So, if you think that your friends are going to have an issue with you using this app, then don't bother with it.
It's sad that it doesn't work completely.
I get the Boon, and many people seem to complain about it. In Munchkins there are many boons you can purchase. It's part of the game. So complaining it isn't fair is ignorant of the gameplay.
However, it is supposed to have a functional "custom" mode that would allow you to play with house rules or modify it to look a little more like any of the other booster versions of the game. But it crashes 100% of the time when you try to select the number font. This has been reported many times and hasn't been addressed. I don't like paying so much for a product that fails to load properly. Too bad apple doesn't let you refund AppStore purchases.
Disappointing that the game developers don't fix their own ap.
It's not that its bad, just...
If you haven't caught on - the "counter" is for one player's levels, no gear. To that end, it brilliantly adds up 1 + 1 + 1 for you. I can't help but think that this is in reality a real life munchkin curse card, since when playing a game, there's usually more than just 1 person playing, and, at some point, you will acquire gear. It does what it says it does, hence the 3 stars, just not what I expected/needed, which was a way to keep track of the whole game, not just my partial corner of it.
