Description
Munzee is the 21st century real world scavenger hunt where QR codes are found and captured using your smartphone. A player levels up and gains rank based on score. Points are obtained by capturing munzees. As you gain experience we encourage you to deploy your own munzees which will also add points to your score.
Munzees come in any size or shape but most contain a QR-code style barcode. The QR code is checked against your GPS coordinates as the essential gameplay elements of Munzee. Munzees can be hidden in containers, camouflaged or stickers in plain view.
Munzee will get you outside and moving. We are more than just a game. We are an active community providing fun tools to live a healthier lifestyle.

Hate to say it, but...
I really do hate leaving such a low review but this app is pretty unusable for me in its current form and I don't see any obvious solutions. Every time I enter the app, I have to re-enter my credentials and readjust all of my settings again, which is a huge pain in itself. Then, it never recognizes where I am right away and if I happen to be in an area with many Munzees, it's an instant crash. Tried deleting and redownloading. Tried fiddling with the settings. Haven't yet reached out to any customer service so we'll see if that helps. Would like to continue my Munzee conquest but I eagerly await an update if this continues.
Fun and great to get you out and about!
I discovered Munzee while Geocaching, and within a week I'd become a premium member (NOT required)!! The game is simple and fun, but has more challenges available for players who want them (e.g. finding a series of Munzees to earn a badge). There's something fulfilling about the "buzz" when you scan a Munzee! I wish the map rotated as you moved - that would make it perfect.
Hidden in plain site
Munzee are a fun alternative to traditional geocaching. Munzees are easier to deploy, capture and manage. The app itself makes playing easy and fun. There are lots of options. However it does seem a bit prone to locking up. Also, it would be helpful if the map could re-orient itself based on your current direction.
