Description
** IMPORTANT: This app will only work if you sync your music manually with iTunes. It is NOT compatible with iCloud Music Library or the Apple Music streaming service. **
Do you still use star ratings to manage your music library?
This Notification Center widget displays the rating of the current track, allowing you to change it while listening to your music. It also provides simple playback controls.
What's New in Version 1.2.2
Half-star ratings are now correctly displayed. (They can be displayed but not set, because iOS doesn't allow setting half-star ratings.)

Timely workaround to Apple's Imprudence
So Apple arbitrarily eliminates the ability for users to start-rate their music on iOS 10. And just like that millions of their die-hard fans, who like yours truly have built a library with numerous playlists based on this personally curating system for decades, are abruptly left in the cold.
Luckily and quite timely, this awesome app comes to the rescue as a wonderful work-around to the absence of a star-rating and saves the day. And, to my consolation, I actually like rating songs this way better than the old default music app way, for I can briskly and conveniently look at and rate tracks right from the home screen (that’s w/o needing to unlock the device and/or dig into the music app for the star-rating feature), and w/o needing to stop the music to invoke Siri for rating, as it is necessary now. And yes, it also updates the iTunes lists when devises are synced.
So, thank you very much developer for your timely solution and I hope you make tons of cash at the expense of Apple’s imprudence.
...Additional info on using the app
Some additional info about this app which makes it great: while it is primarily a widget that lets you change start ratings from the notification screen (as shown in the official screenshot), this app also works as a traditional app. You have to use the Music app to change playlists or albums etc first, but afterwards, open this app and you will get a nice splash screen that shows you album art, artist, song title, and current star rating. Swipe left to advance to the next song, swipe right to reverse. double tap to pause or play. Also the display doesn't turn off when this splash screen is displayed, so you can start playing a new album and when the next song starts and you decide what rating you want to give it, the screen is still on and ready for you to rate it or maybe change songs. No need to click the power or home button to turn on the screen. Pefect!
Awesome! (After Apple killed rating in their Music player)
Apple decided to kill the ability to rate songs in iOS 10, to try and force the Love/Dislike system onto everyone. Along with a large number of music enthusiasts I use ratings for smart playlists and to keep track of songs I have not yet listened to. For us the Music Rating Widget works great. It also allows rating while phone is locked. Awesome app/widget - highly recommended!
