Description

Musical Ears is the music ear training App. This App feeds absolute pitch and relative pitch. And it's useful for Interval training, too. A sense of pitch may grow if you play successively.

Melodies are created by Musical Ears at random.

At first You tap "Lesson" button and hear the melody of an exercise. And you set the notes on the score sheet that you think of, by a touch and slide.

[Lesson] : Play a lesson (an exercise). [Answer] : Play your answer. [Both] : Play a lesson and your answer at the same time. For the Chord Lesson, [Both] : Play a lesson and your answer continually.

You can hear "Lesson" and "Answer" and "Both" again and again. You can answer step by step while confirming those sounds.

Customer Reviews

Good - would like more

I was delighted to find an app like this for my new iPad. My previous ear trainers required I go find an instrument to work with the recording. This has the recorded notes, the ability to play it back, and feedback, plus I can use earphones. I like that I can request the test notes repeatedly until I get it right.

I also like that I can change how many notes it plays. I expect that when my ear gets better, the chord option will be good for me. I don't know my intervals well enough yet, though.

My background is that I can read music well enough to pick out a song and memorize it, but I would like to be able to play by ear.

Two features would improve it for me. First, for the solution page to name the chord, not just show the notes of the chord. I realize this would only work when I have selected it to play the right number of notes for a chord to be named. This would help me to learn the names of chords to go with the sounds.

The second would be to name the interval. Yes, I know a fourth when I see one, but it isn't as automatic as I would like yet.

Long term, a game mode or other way to track progress could be cool.

this is very good

I've been using it for a few weeks and see a real improvement! i guess people weren't lying when they told me i am tone-deaf! :)
this app is enjoyable to use, and makes a difference.
motivated me to write my first review.
