Ratings and Reviews
This is one of a few games I will call great with a four star rating. I enjoyed the aspect and playability of the game as well as the design. The one downside is the ease of defeating the CPU once you know what course to take. I have been able to dispatch the CPU quickly by following the same steps each time. I wish it could adapt and force you to change your strategy with each play. Other than that I thoroughly enjoy this game.
It took me 5-6 hours but I did finally win playing as the Americans...on the easy setting. I too loathe the fact the the opponent's get extra points added to their dice illegally. (-4 stars on my review) IMO, they should only get the extra point on the top dice when they purchase a general card, just as the player is able to do. But they get plus one (sometimes plus two or three) on every die....which is unfair and biased. But I still won.
the Patriotic music was a plus for me. (+ 1 star on my review)
I also think it would be better to have the game be more historically accurate, starting with 13 colonies & then expanding from there with Indian tribes, etc. (-1 star)
I like the artistic element of the map/figures/screens. (+1 star)
