Good for basic math skills
I saw this app on the Big Ideas Math book site. The game is ok for improving basic math skills--adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing whole numbers, fractions, decimals, etc. However I was hoping it would cover the other concepts in the book as well, like percents, word problems, etc. I would say this app would be good for elementary grades, not all the way to 8th grade as they advertise.
It also is just the one basic game--fill in the numbers to make the equations, though the levels do get harder.
So I give it four stars for younger kids, but I would give it 2 stars for middle schoolers.
Is the developer paying people for reviews
This is a horrible app. First it anyone who used the word engaging in their review needs to look up the definition of engaging. There is zero explanation of what to do as you play the game so a child who is unfamiliar with the problem is sitting staring at numbers that mean nothing. Great. So let them learn by trial and error. Each time they get a wrong answer they are rewarded with a awful eeeeeennnnn sound.
Horrible horrible awful app.
If I could give it -10 stars I would and I don't think I have EVER written a bad review.
Home schooling ? And not a PHD then download this app it's great!!
Math and I have had a long and sordid history. This game is fun and I was thinking that perhaps Sec of Treasury Bernake might be able to sharpen up his skills to help set the LIBOR rate.
All kidding aside if u have ever tried to remember order of operations when your children ask for help with their math homework give them this game. Lots of great animations and sound mathematic.
Home schooling? Then this is the app for u. Math is one of those things u need strong skill sets to teach or great tools to help u. Don't cheat your kids...
It's fun mathematics... I know not usually words used in the same sentence.
