Note: Some app features require location data or for you to register by providing your full name, country, birthdate and email address in order to use them. Optional planning tools may also ask you about your travel party or allow you to save a credit card to your profile for online purchases.

What's New in Version 2.7

For this release, we simplified how you make a dining reservation, and introduced the ability to order meals in advance with a lunch reservation at Be Our Guest restaurant. Additionally, our "1-Day Tickets with Park Hopper Option" are now available for purchase through the app. Lastly, we fixed crashes and enhanced the experience - now it’s easier to see if there is a problem loading or refreshing your plans on the home screen.

Too much planning involved

Loved when you could have an app that told you waiting times of rides. We were there just 1 1/2 years ago. We get there and now instead of going to ride and swiping ticket for fast pass you need this app. So we have to punch in ticket numbers for 4 tickets to find out no more fast passes today. So basically now, Disney wants you planning hotels, meals, rides way in advance. We stood in ridiculous lines because we only got a couple at Hollywood Studios. Then we make a lunch reservation through app. Get on Toy Story ride which listed 50 minute wait. Lunch was in 1hr 15min so we have time. Or not once the ride kept breaking down. Next thing you know we miss lunch. Luckily they let us in with a short wait. If you are going to force people to make reservations through app, give them the option to cancel. Calling the only number listed was a waste. Put on permahold and it was a main Disney number.

We work for a living. Going to Disney is a getaway. If we have to plan every moment of everyday weeks ahead of time we won't be coming back. And by the way, Universal sells their fast pass. There is no concept of reserving them days or weeks in advance. Much easier and fair if you ask me.

Getting better, but still needs some tweaks

First, in response to complaints about process, I agree that planning my vacation in advance down to the ride takes the fun out by removing spontaneity. However, that's not due to the app, that's due to the overall implementation of the next gen solution by Disney aka the Magic Bands. If you don't like the app, you can log in from the web at home or use a kiosk in the parks. (Not as convenient as the app.)

That said, the app is far more solid than it was 6 months ago. Saying it's more stable covers the general issues. I personally only have 1 issue right now that I submitted to Disney already. The app shows the park tours available, but no way to book them. Additionally, after having booked a tour (& paid for it) by phone, I have no way to enter the reservation number to see it added to my itinerary of other reservations and FP+.

Overall, even the ticket linking is working well. I'm hoping they also add finger print use with the iPhone 6 for internal payment with the tours and extras.

Love it!

I love this app. I use it even when I am not in the parks. I enjoy planning almost as much as being at Disney. The app lets me check availability quickly. If I don't get a reservation or fast pass at first I keep trying and usually get it. The app makes it quick and easy for me to check often. My only wish is that after I use my first three fast passes that I could get then next one on the app instead of waiting at a fast pass kiosk. I was a little nervous about having to plan our vacation down to the hour 60 days in advance, but the app let us change our plans on the go. Also it was a busy time of year so having all the FastPass in advance was a huge time saver. I checked it often in the park for wait times. That was super helpful. Over all it's a great app. I couldn't imagine not having it now in the parks and for planning.
