Great Garden Sim
My Little Garden is one of those games that deceives you with a somewhat cheesy title. This game is in no way cheesy. First the amount of detail put into the game's artwork and overall design allows you to fall in love with your garden and really feel like you are actually growing living plants. The artwork is all high quality unlike some other games in the genre and the animations add the extra touch that makes the plants so personal. Second, unique gameplay elements make the game standout from others. In the game there are certain animals and other creatures that help you manage the garden. This is a really good idea and it adds to the depth of the game. Third, the decorations really let you get personal, and these little additions are what keep things interesting.
My suggestions for the game would be to add more of what is here, and to introduce a few new elements. New plants, new helper creatures, and new evironments would all be awesome to have. Also, if there could be some natural disasters or little phenomena that negatively affect your garden this would give players a challenge.
Other than that, My Little Garden is an awesome game and it is one that should not be overlooked.
Great app for building skills of future managers and entrepreneurs
My 4 years old son has recently discovered this iPad game and asked me for my help with it. After playing it with him for less than an hour I found it excellent in simulating most of the typical business growth related issues beginning managers and entrepreneurs are facing. Try it out and you'll quickly find out you need to delegate tasks, harvest plants that support each other automatically, invest in improving skills, capacity, and strengths of your workforce, and deny jobs when they are promising less coins/hearts than they require you to invest. You'll also find out that you can spend coins on things that make the game less boring but don't otherwise help you (decorations). All this in a very entertaining way.
If you are hoping your child to become a good manager or entrepreneur in the future, this is one of the apps that's going to help him/her to gain the necessary skills.
Good game that I quickly became addicted to. However, after only a night and a day of playing it, I already finished all the requests. It would be nice to have a constant stream of randomly generated requests.
Also, would be nice if you could cancel commands before they are carried out. Sometimes I would accidentally tap something without meaning to, but there was no way for me to stop the fairy from doing it anyway. Would also be nice to add a feature so that you can summon a particular helper to a plant. The helpers often weren't very helpful; I'd have a row of plants needing fertilizer and a bug would come and tend to one of the plants, then go off and leave to another field. This would be especially helpful to summon the dog to do certain plots of land in order.
Another small oddity was the fact that the fairy didn't really have a method to the order she does things in. You'd think she'd just do things in the order you tell her to, but that's not always the case. For instance, you have her plant a row of flowers, then tap to have her water another plant after that. She would then plant one or two flowers, go water the plant, then go back to planting flowers.
Overall, a good game, especially being free. It has its bugs, but is definitely worth a play anyway.
