Important! The application is not for downloading or watching content.

My Movies allows you to catalog your entire collection of movie and TV Series from our world class online data service containing data for disc titles (DVD, Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD), movies (Digital Copies) and TV Series, from various counties and in various languages.

Attention Upgraders! Users of the first version of our application for iPhone or iPad, simply log into the same user account that you previously used, and your existing collection will synchronize to the new application. Contact us on if you are in need of help.

Our database of titles is the best available, containing more than 1,000,000 titles on DVD and Blu-ray, supplemented by a large catalog of movies and TV Series for digital copies. If you have one or more titles that are not in our service, you can report it and it will be created within 48 hours by our staff - a service you will not find elsewhere.

You can evaluate the full application, by downloading My Movies Free, which is a freely available identical version with the exception of being limited to 50 titles, and only 10 items in release and trailer lists.

You can use the application as a standalone product on your iPhone, iPad or iPod, or use it as a companion to our other software packages, available for all popular platforms, allowing you to keep your movie collection synchronized between clients.

The application requires you to create a user account, log onto an existing My Movies account, or log in through Facebook to be able to use the program. Your collection will follow your user account through our online servers, allowing you to switch between different clients without ever losing your data - we have clients available for all popular platforms. If you log in to an existing account, your current collection will automatically be synchronized to your device.

You can within the program activate an online web based listing of your collection, allowing you to send friends and family a website that allows them to browse your collection.

Almost Perfect

I love this app and use it constantly. However, there is one MAJOR problem with it. Every Tuesday, I buy the latest 4K movies and barcode scan them into the app. However, about half the time it indicates that the title is not yet in their database and asks me if I would like to submit the title to them. So, I agree and enter the info and take front cover and back cover photos and click submit. Without exception, it comes back with an error message indicating someone else has already submitted that title. Why doesn't the app just check to see whether someone has already submitted the title between it saying it doesn't exist and before it asking me to submit it? It is disrespectful to keep wasting everyone's time. I'll wait a month and then think surely they have fixed this problem after years of doing this but sure enough, it just keeps doing the same thing every single time. I'd give it 5 stars if they corrected this frustrating issue.

Developer Response

Hi. Thank you for your feedback - this is a good point actually, and we were not aware that this was a problem for users. The application already checks if a title is pending in the service as a contribution, but the message you received is likely because another user already reported the same title missing - we will try to check if we can check that list as well. The missing title reports are handled within maximum 48 hours, and typically within 24, so we expected it to be rare that users got to report the same title on top of each other. The problem is here is that if the user who reported the title missing created something wrong in his report, a missing title report is not a guarantee that the title gets created, and we are unable to notify you about that.

Tv Series data is useless

My Movies still seems mostly focused on being an entertainment server for Windows users. To add a disc title to a tv series you have to download the Windows version and scan every disc in the title. It would seem simple enough to simply select a bunch of disc titles and add them to a tv series, but despite my having requested this feature they don't seem to think it's important. So iOS users must rely on other users to add data if they want to have a consistent look to their collection.

In response to the developer, I understand your limitations. They are self-imposed, and don't change anything I stated in my review. iOS users pay for an app and have to hope that someone will add data for the particular UPC that they scanned into their collection. Knowing what episode is what title on the disc doesn't help iOS users, only people who use My Movies as an entertainment server and rip their discs to HDD.

Developer Response

Hi Joel. The reason the Windows software is required to connect disc titles to TV Series is that it is not just a connection to the TV Series, but a marking of which episodes the disc title contains - this is done by pointing which chapter on a disc contains which episode, and that requires to be able to read the disc structure, which you cannot on a mobile device. Update: We are currently working on an alternative to TV Series mappings - we would love your inputs on this, if you contact our support on

Need some attention much....

Normally, I would give this a higher rating, but the fact that it asked me to rate it EVERY 30 SECONDS made me angry and so I will rate it according to the degree of annoyance it is giving me. Otherwise, it's a pretty good product that does what says it does, though the database does have holes in it. I've had to add some 40 titles myself. I have the iPod Touch/iPhone and iPad versions as well as the PC version. The PC version allows me to download and backup the full database. I have over 1500 titles, so that database has already topped 3GB, so fair warning about how much data there is for each title.
There is still one huge problem: you cannot add covers from a mobile device, which have built-in cameras. Seems like a complete waste of functionality.

Developer Response

Hi Gene. Users can contribute covers to the service using the "Add Missing Data" function in the bottom of the details page, but the covers must specifically be scans or studio material, and not camera photos - we do not allow camera photos in the service for quality consistency reasons - if you look at competitor apps who has camera photos as part of their data, it looks horrible when viewing a list of titles. You are however at all times welcomed to contribute a scanned cover - many scanners sold today offer apps to do scanning without a computer.
