My Takeout Menus
By APSquared LLC
Open iTunes to buy and download apps.
My Takeout Menus is designed to help you get rid of that unorganized drawer full with takeout and delivery menus. We will help you digitize your menus by finding them on the web or letting you take pictures of the menu. Then you can find the menus by name, category or take a spin with our "Wheel of Menus".
Your digital menu drawer will be with you wherever you go, so if you want to order some takeout on the way home from the store you can quickly and easily find YOUR menus.
The app is not meant to be a huge database of every menu. We try to find menus that can be found online but many local menus cannot. In those cases we allow you to take a picture (or pictures) of the menu. This is a free version that is limited to 3 menus and no personalized notes.
What's New in Version 1.54
We have resolved a major issue where anyone who has previously purchased our app would then be asked to upgrade.
To fix this , if you have previously purchased our application contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we will inform you on how to upgrade the new application for free.
Our goal of switching to the free model was to let people try the app out before spending $1.99 - not to mess with anyone who already had the app.
Sorry for the inconvience
Photo Library Access or add pdf
I agree with the other reviewer. I'd prefer to access my photo library to add my menus. Even better, I'd rather be able to add mine as .pdf files. The majority of my favorite takeout restaurants have downloadable .pdf format menus on their sites and those that don't I can scan a paper menu of and turn it into either one, a graphic file or a .pdf. Make this an option and I'll gladly pay for the premium upgrade.
Also, I'm not happy that the "developer website" links to a Tumbler page that must be logged into instead of actual support for this app. You developers always complain that when we address problems in reviews you can't do anything about them, but if you don't provide us with any other way to get in contact with you, where else are we supposed to address them?
At first, I didn't like the fact that not all my restaurant menus were available through a digital form like menu pages, so I couldn't have this app automatically pull it from a database online.
About 9 of my menus were available through an online database. The rest I gladly photographed with my iPad just to get rid of the clutter. Now, I have a one-stop shop for all my takeout menus. And it also forced me to clean up my junk menus.
Good job, guys. Great idea, decent execution. This may require a facelift soon. It looks a tad dated.
While I do wish more of my menus were available, it was worth 10 minutes of my time to take photos of the rest to have easy access to my menus wherever I am...not just at home. I've wasted more time sitting in the restaurant waiting for my food because I didn't have the menu in the car to order in advance. Now I have them with me wherever I go. Problem solved! Saving me time and hassle is worth $1.99 to me.
