My Tello 4+

Was able to connect my unlocked Sprint phone with no issues. The process was very easy. It took 5 minutes. Once connected the service worked excellent. I’ve been able to use for months, stop for months and still return without losing my number, or any reconnect fees. As for the the app, it’s lacking one feature. Calls can be made from the app but not text messages which is too bad. I know you can text from the phone itself, but being able to text from the app, a another phone on line, or a computer would be awesome.

Pros- Tello seems to run off towers other providers also use. For instance, I’ll occasionally have my iphone tell me my provider is t-mobile instead of Tello. So, you should get good service provided you don’t live surrounded by farms or mountains. This “switch” doesn’t seem to affect billing at all.

Orders on the app work instantaneously. If I run out of data my plan will update as soon as I place my order and service resumes.

Cons- why does your app not run full speed, at all times? If I’m out of high-speed data how should I be expected to order more if my phone won’t load your app until the 14th attempt? This is not an issue with the app not loading due to an outage, this is an issue with the app not loading due to “running out of high-speed data” when I have an unlimited plan, and not being able to load the app.

The app tracker for data is also delayed. If you accidentally exceed your limit it’s possible the app will say you haven’t used any data at all, for what can seem like nearly 12 hours after you’ve exceeded the data cap.

The unlimited high-speed data plan isn’t unlimited (it’s around 25gbs). Your terms clearly say so. Show me how much high-speed data I have remaining on my plan, don’t show me an infinity sign.

TLDR; Tello offers quality service, but the app has some hiccups. This should be read as a review of the app, not the other services Tello provides.

Read reviews that said telephone service was excellent, and saw they used T-Mobile network, which, according to the T-Mobile map has good 4G service in my area, and fair 5G service in my area. However, in my area, I am not able to get any reliable service from Tello. I called Tello, and they say it’s just T-Mobile service is not strong in my area; I called T-Mobile, and they disagree. T-Mobile says that T-Mobile customers get priority service on the T-Mobile towers, and the piggy back services get whatever’s left. Is this true, I don’t know; I don’t have T-Mobile service. However, I do know that the Tello 4G service just doesn’t work in doors, or out doors, in North Tallahassee, 10 miles from the Georgia border. This may be great service for some people, but not usable for me. Fortunately, the most I will possibly lose is my $14 prepayment… not sure if they give refunds, but will find out soon.
