Horrendous idea of an update. The updated app is virtually useless. The old version was excellent - easy to see everything. Not so now. It didn't like my password. Didn't like my fingerprint. Had to uninstall and reinstall the app, and go through several steps to input my same password and fingerprint as before just so the app would let me in. Then I got in and discovered a page of advertising. Couldn't directly access any useful info. Called Verizon customer service and they walked me through. Told me the "new feed-based app" is supposed to be "just like Facebook, where it suggests things you might like to see." In other words, data mining for themselves. Has nothing to do with the user experience. All about Verizon. Seriously? If I want a Facebook app, I'll download Facebook. All I want from Verizon is a phone app that tells me immediately what I need to know AT A GLANCE, which the old version did extremely well and efficiently. Now it takes more than several steps. If I could give negative stars for the app, I would. Five stars for customer service. If previous reviews are any indication, I have a feeling they're going to be inundated with angry customers over this latest so-called "improvement."
App hasn't worked since June update
I only rated it one star because zero wasn't an option. Haven't been able to use mobile app since last update in JUNE!!! Screen has a frown emoticon and says it can't connect but you can still do data transfer (whatever that is). I have no desire to "chat" live with "Jessica" or "Jennifer" as they've never been helpful. They keep restating my questions without actually doing anything about answering them. Then they always end up saying I need to call the phone number that always puts you on hold to still not get help. And there is no email for customer service. I refuse to sit on hold because they choose not to make it easier for us to contact them. Last time we had an issue, they refused to create a problem ticket for a Verizon issue as they said they have no way to contact technical support, even tho they were supposed to be technical support.
Customer Service and Quality
I have be in the service industry business for almost 16yrs now and as a person who can be very critical about small things in any type of service industry job (retail, food, electronics, etc.) I want to say thank you. I've been a Verizon member for 20yrs as well as my family of 8 and we aren't planning on leaving any time soon. There was a brief period where we had some rough times and some legitimate complaints about the company but not anymore. You're online chat help is AMAZING (I spoke with someone named Casey) and the Columbiana Rd location in Columbia, SC is amazing to! Thank you again for being such an awesome company
