Discover what’s trending and what’s popular among the people with the discovery hub. This showcases the current season of anime so you can find new series to watch without having to search! Looking for something more specific? Type in the English or rōmaji title, and it’ll find what you’re looking for easily.
Check out all the shows and books your friends are interested in, too! Sync up with AniList.co to explore what someone thought of a particular series.
MyAniList is in no way affiliated with AniList.co.
This release contains a few bug fixes and improvements:
- Fixed an issue with the Discover page not rendering the right anime and manga on certain lists.
- Fixed an issue where the start and finish dates for anime and manga would sometimes be rendered as the next day. Updating these dates should now reflect the current day on both AniList.co and the app (versus the subsequent day).
Happy watching and reading!
Ratings and Reviews
It was really good until I got banned for using it
I use this app a lot, almost daily, to track all the anime I’ve watched (137 completed)(180 planned)(15 watching)(60 on hold). Recently, however, MAL had an update to where if you marked to many anime done, on hold, or updated the amount of episodes watched consecutively it would place a ban on your IP address. I don’t know the reason behind this, probably a security reason, but it is frustrating nonetheless. At first I read my ban would last a few hours but its been well over 2 days! I proceeded to the FAQ to try and find a way to fix it but I’ve had no luck figuring it out. This isn’t that big of a deal, as I’m sure it’ll fix itself, but like I said it is frustrating.
However, the app is still really useful for viewing the upcoming seasonal anime, and also any anime you search up. It has had literally every anime I’ve ever searched listed and with a super detailed synopsis attached. It’s a super easy to use app that’s helped me out a lot over my anime watching career. Im giving it a 4/5 since my IP is banned, once thats fixed ill update to 5/5.
I’m sorry, I really hate writing bad reviews, but this has left me no choice. I tried to create an account a couple weeks ago and successfully did so. However, as soon as I made my account, it was IP banned (seriously!?). I guess it could have been because I tried to log in before I verified my email, but after I verified, it still would not allow me to log in. I waited 3 days, attempting to log in each day to see if the IP ban had been lifted, but it hadn’t so I finally just deleted the app. I just reinstalled the app and attempted to make a new account as I had forgotten the password to the other account, and it will not let me due to the fact that my other count used this email. This would be fine, but I forgot my password to my initial account and I get a 400 bad request error every time I try to request a new password. How am I supposed to fix this? I really want to use this, but I keep running into problems and I can’t seem to find answers anywhere.
Developer Response ,
Hey Sam, this review response is coming in pretty late, but this was the result of MyAnimeList.net pushing stringent security around their authentication and older API. Since then, they decided to remove it entirely without listening to feedback from third-party developers such as myself. There was unfortunately no other way for me to get around the banning issue, as they keyed off of it with an IP address. I'm terribly sorry for the experience, and hopefully we can see you again if you import your data into AniList.
Great help, minor issues
Really do love this app! It has a clean interface and is pretty easy to use. The only real complaints I have is probably the fact that when you add a new anime or manga, it still changes the start (and sometimes the finish) dates to the day you are adding it in. The other is the fact of features. As expected of a[n excellent] fan-made app, there are major differences between the app and the website. Mostly a difference of features like quickly adding episodes or chapters, as well as [proper] start dates. Unless you already know these features from the site, you might not find them unless you’re really digging around on the app.
