Description

Climate provides quick and easy access to manage your Nest® thermostat directly the menu bar on your Mac. You no longer need to walk to your Nest in order to change temperature or settings.

Display your temperature settings directly in the menu bar. This allows you to quickly glance and verify that your thermostat is setup just as you like it.

Receive notifications straight to your desktop when your Nest® temperature has changed, has been set to Away and other important events.

Have you ever been home and wished that you could temporarily stop your Nests from getting set to Away? You can allow Climate to ensure that your Nest never enters away mode for up to 8 hours. Then you never need to worry about unwanted changes in temperature when your Nest thinks you are not home when you actually are.

**Configuring Notifications** I am working on preferences to control the notifications. Until that update, you can tweak how the notifications are displayed inside your Notifications System Preference pane.

**Important** In order to use this application, you will need to own a Nest® thermostat and have access to your online account at home.nest.com.

NEST Thermostat

Best thing since chopped liver. LOVE it. Can control 3 thermosrats and based on my schedule. Easy to change through computer or iPhone. Can analyze and change throught all seasons. Can turn down when I retire to bed at various times. Saving a lot of energy. Can tell when heat or A/C are not runnng properly. Reminds me to clean filters. Can see exactly when each unit ran and was off during the last week so I can make adjustments if necessary. VERY EASY TO CHANGE SCHEDULES FOR ENTIRE WEEK OR ANY SPECIFIC DAY. I hated standing at the thermostats making complicated adjustment all the time. Never have to get off my chair to adjust units now & it is very easy. Had for 1 year no trouble.

Only complaint is on rare occasions I lose wi fi connection for a brief while on 1 of the 3 thermostats.

not well thought-out

Do these people actually think that most of us want hour-to-hour, day-to-day control of the temperature??????? I live in an apartment in NYC. I COULD CARE LESS about what my settings are on Tuesday vs. Wednesday. Or Thursday vs. Friday. What I DO WANT is a way to set temperatures for a SEASON. For a MONTH, at least. Instead, I have to set EACH DAY SEPARATELY, then COPY from one day to the next for the whole week. Don’t these people understand that IN THE WINTER, I WANT THE SAME TEMPERATURES, AND IN THE SUMMER I WANT THE SAME THROUGH THAT SEASON, BUT ***NOT*** THE TEMPERATURES I HAD IN THE WINTER????? No, they don’t seem to get it. In addition, what if I want to add a schedule for the fan? No, we can’t do that at all; it’s either on or off.

Great (when it works)

I absolutely love this App - or the idea of it. Having the temp and controls in the menu bar is a dream. HOWEVER - too often I get the “unable to communicate” message when trying to use it. This morning the menu bar showed 68º while the thrmostat itself was at 63º, which is where it was set. I used my iphone Nest app to adjust the temp up a few degrees. Then this app regained its mind. This happens too often. Fix the bug and it will be five stars in my book.
