Thanks to everyone for making MyRadar so successful, with over 25 million downloads!
MyRadar is a fast, easy-to-use, weather application that displays animated weather radars around your current location, allowing you to quickly see what weather is coming your way. Our High Definition Doppler radar data is processed from raw NOAA weather radar data from the National Weather Service / NWS using our custom-designed, proprietary systems and software, offering the clearest, sharpest, most accurate and most up-to-date reflection of precipitation available... easily accessible at the tap of a finger on your mobile device.
Just start the app, and your location pops up with animated weather, allowing you to easily see if rain or snow is headed your way. Our high-res animated radar helps you see weather details even at the closest level!
What's great about MyRadar is that the map is easily zoomed and scrolled around with the flick of a finger, allowing you to quickly check the weather in other parts of the country, including Hawaii & Puerto Rico!
On top of the basic weather forecast, users can get a quick glance of temperatures around the country, as well as overlay a current satellite image of cloud cover. For you aviation buffs, there's a layer that provides Airmets & Sigmets, and even the ability to overlay the flight plan of a particular aircraft onto the map. You can also share interesting weather photos from your area, and see photos other users have contributed neatly displayed on the map.
Additional options include weather warnings and alerts, complete with push notifications, to warn you of severe weather in your area. Great for the start of thunderstorm and tornado season! There's also an optional hurricane tracker, providing excellent details and projections for the path of storms as the season looms near.
MyRadar currently shows weather for the United States (including Alaska, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico, when HD Radar is enabled).

What's New in Version 4.4.5
minor performance improvement
Simple to use and straight to the point!
Other weather apps provide a diverse amount of information (some of which can be added on to this app), but I didn't get it for alerts to bad weather systems. Smart phones give you the same alert sound you've heard for years on TV and radio, unless you turn it off (it's optional). I have both local and international weather apps to give me the forecast, but no broad weather apps like these I have a detailed radar like this one. During storms it's what I turn to, along with a radio app, if the electricity goes out. I just heard some thunder today, when rain wasn't in the forecast. I checked the radar first. There was a cell to the east, dissipating fast. Sure, I checked my other app for the forecast, but I didn't need to. It was the same as it was before. This app detailed why it wasn't hitting me, and yet it could tell me it was raining two blocks away. I checked later and saw the wet ground on my way east to the grocery store. No other app is as detailed as this one!
My Go-To Weather App
Title says all you need to know. I only have 15 other weather apps and rely on just two. My Radar Pro for a good overview both regionally and nationally. The 2nd one is Radar Scope which has over 50 variations of radar images providing more detail. Great app for us anal retentive types. My only rub with Radar Scope is that you can't consolidate multiple radar sites into a larger area requiring you to jostle back and forth between adjacent locations to get a more thorough look. I use My Radar Pro for 90% of my analysis and Radar Scope if I need to get up close and investigate echo tops and super-res velocities for possible tornado activity. I love this stuff. Great app for a broad stroke look.
Great Weather App ToolFor Quick Reference!
This app comes in very handy when you want a quick, accurate weather reference on current conditions and forecasts. I really find useful the radar images that give me time to determine what my plans will be based on the conditions illustrated by the app. I can also tweak the layers and other features so that I can see aviation layers, temperatures, wind patterns, cloud cover, and even recent earthquakes around the world. I recommend this app to anyone needing a quick glimpse into current weather conditions by means of radar images.
