Thanks to everyone for making MyRadar so successful, with over 20 million downloads!

MyRadar is a fast, easy-to-use, weather application that displays animated weather radars around your current location, allowing you to quickly see what weather is coming your way. Our High Definition Doppler radar data is processed from raw NOAA weather radar data from the National Weather Service / NWS using our custom-designed, proprietary systems and software, offering the clearest, sharpest, most accurate and most up-to-date reflection of precipitation available... easily accessible at the tap of a finger on your mobile device.

Just start the app, and your location pops up with animated weather, allowing you to easily see if rain or snow is headed your way. Our high-res animated radar helps you see weather details even at the closest level!

What's great about MyRadar is that the map is easily zoomed and scrolled around with the flick of a finger, allowing you to quickly check the weather in other parts of the country, including Hawaii & Puerto Rico!

On top of the basic weather forecast, users can get a quick glance of temperatures around the country, as well as overlay a current satellite image of cloud cover. For you aviation buffs, there's a layer that provides Airmets & Sigmets, and even the ability to overlay the flight plan of a particular aircraft onto the map. You can also share interesting weather photos from your area, and see photos other users have contributed neatly displayed on the map.

Additional options include weather warnings and alerts, complete with push notifications, to warn you of severe weather in your area. Great for the start of thunderstorm and tornado season! There's also an optional hurricane tracker, providing excellent details and projections for the path of storms as the season looms near.

MyRadar currently shows weather for the United States (including Alaska, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico, when HD Radar is enabled).

I find this application very useful. I live at the very southern tip of Illinois. This is one of the most difficult places on our map to be able to predict weather. Typically, only a couple days in advance are accurate unless we are in a holding weather pattern. It is the changes that are difficult to predict for any length of time in advance. I find having access to temperatures and wind and clouds and precipitation all on the same map very helpful. I am able to predict the weather better then the meteorologists on television. At times the map does not open and I have to shut down my phone and restart it or go to some other unrelated app and then close that app and return to my radar in order for it to open. Otherwise, I find this application unique and very, very helpful and accurate up-to-the-minute. I use iPhone and MacBook
Furthermore, the ability to overlay wind, clouds, precipitation, and temperature simultaneously and control each of those data forms translucency separately very beneficial for predictive deductions. This is especially when severe events and other eminent warnings and watches are upon us. Also find the push notifications of threatening events critical for when I am too busy to study the maps myself. AVIATION data has been educational to me.
One drawback is that it only covers part of North America. World access would be FAR PREFERABLE.

This app literally saved my life. I was driving from Florida to Tennessee. Just got into Tennessee had about 45 miles to go it was 4am. I was tried saw lightening in the distance. Pulled up the app saw bad weather so I decided to stop to stretch my legs. Was about to get going when the Tornado warning came up for the town I was about to start heading towards. I waited 30 mins before I got back on the road to avoid the weather. Once I got back on the road the town was hit hard. Cars off the road trees down building destroyed. If I didn't get that warning I would have been in that town when the tornado hit. Driving a small rental car I would of ended off the road. And if you've ever been to Tennessee you know that there's the road and there's a 30+ cliff dropoff. So this app saved my life. Others on the road wasn't as fortunate.

This is, beyond the shadow of a doubt, the best weather app I have used in the past several years. The HD radar overlay is unbelievably helpful, when I am out and about, and wondering if that isolated snow or rain shower over there is heading my way, and when it will get here, if it is. I have dodged many weather bullets that way, during my many dog walks. :-) The aviation overlays are a delightful addition, for a flying enthusiast like myself. The wind direction overlay is very fun, but it often conflicts with the wind directions I see in Weather Underground, and with what I am feeling on my face at the moment. The temperature overlay is interesting, but it obscures too much other useful data. I love the hurricane overlay, as it helps me understand what my friends and family in Florida might be facing soon. This is my go-to app, for real-time weather data.
