With MyScript® MathPad, handwrite your equations or mathematical expressions on your screen and have them rendered into their digital equivalent for easy sharing.
Render complex mathematical expressions easily using your handwriting with no constraints. The result can be shared as an image or as a LaTeX* or MathML* string for integration in your documents or even share to other external computation software like WolframAlpha®.
MyScript® MathPad provides the same experience as writing on paper with the advantages of a digital device (Scratch-outs, undo, redo, …).

- Export your equation in LaTeX* or MathML* or as image.
- Write mathematical expressions in an intuitive and natural way with no keyboard
- Recognizes 200+ characters and operators
- Scratch-out gestures to easily delete symbols and numbers
- Portrait and landscape operation
- Redo and undo functions

* LaTeX and MathML conversion require an in-app purchase.

Amazing handwriting recognition

This is a really good app. The hand writing recognition is surprisingly accurate. It feels more natural than writing latex. Smart gestures like scratch out to erase are nice. Wish there were some improvements. I’d like to write more than single equation at a time. My ideal workflow would be to write several equations and transfer them to a text editor on my computer at once

Good foundation with room for improvement

UTE 415

This app is great for simpler single-line expressions. However, long expansions with super- and subscripts get messy. The "responsive areas" where I'd write them are too small / insensitive. Also, there needs to be palm-rejection when using a stylus.

I'd love to see updates for this product. I'm currently in a CFD class, and this tool could significantly reduce the hassle of digitizing long equations when coupled with Sharelatex or other editor!

The Apple Newton lives....

Upstate NY

Anyone who remembers the frustration of the handwriting recognition on the Apple Newton will be taken back to those days- it needs a lot of improvement in this app.

In particular, the integral symbol usually requires multiple attempts to create, the app usually takes it for an “r”. And you must use a curvy italic style to get the variable “x”, otherwise you get multiplication (this should be a setting, I know of no advanced math textbooks that actually use the multiplication symbol). These are just a couple examples.

However, once you manage to get your formulas and equations written, it is quite nice in its ability to capture and export your images.

There’s a really good app in here just dying to get out- but more work is needed.
