Whether you have insomnia or just want a better method for falling asleep, mySleepButton® is designed to help you fall asleep. And to return to sleep. It's easy: Just touch the "Put Me to Sleep" button, close your eyes, and imagine the objects or scenes that are read to you.
When you naturally fall asleep, your mind drifts and wanders. At sleep onset, you often dream and experience "hypnagogic" imagery (though you might not remember it). Use mySleepButton to get into this state and off to sleep.
You've probably played music in "shuffle mode" before. Now, with mySleepButton you can "shuffle your thoughts to sleep."
So, why not try something different , like mySleepButton®, to get to sleep faster and more pleasantly?
The Government of Canada’s Canadian Institute of Health Research posted two articles about mySleepButton. The BC Medical Journal online covered mySleepButton. Tri-City Psychology Services, SHRINKRap, also had an article about mySleepButton. Popular Science Magazine (August 2014) describes mySleepButton as "Some things are just … better". mySleepButton has also been covered by the International Business Times, "As it Happens" (CBC prime-time national Radio), Global TV News BC, several radio stations and many web sites.
You can read more about mySleepButton on mySleepButton.com. It has plenty of helpful information about insomnia and sleep. And we have more innovative, CogSci Apps features in the mySleepButton product "pipeline."
Meanwhile, just press the "Put Me to Sleep" button, and "Shuffle Your Thoughts to Sleep" with this CogSci Apps™ invention for insomnia.
What's New in Version 1.3.3
1. On the Settings screen, we added support for filtering out unwanted words. For instance, if the word "Clown" bothers you, you can prevent mySleepButton from saying it by adding it to the "Words to Exclude" Setting.
2. Added better support for iOS 9.
3. Enhancements and changes to improve stability.
I don't often have difficulty sleeping, but when I do it is often accompanied with going over the same thing in my head. This app breaks that pattern and let's me fall asleep. The words it offers appear to be selected to encourage using all your senses in imagining. For example, it might offer "velvet," "crown," or "spare-ribs" to trigger different senses. The free version works well enough for me for now, but I wonder if frequent use would make the suggestions turn up too often. If that occurs, the additional packs for sale are likely to help.
Ok, could use some tweaks
Nice idea but I find the default voice irritating (sounds like a GPS navigator voice) and can’t figure out how to change it (supposedly there’s a male voice?). Also, the article (a, an) is unnecessary and distracting before each word. “A raindrop” isn’t necessary – “raindrop” is simpler and less distracting.
Also, as I fall asleep the next words sometimes wake me up again. Would be good to have the option to play soft music behind the words to avoid the complete silence in between.
I Am Totally Sold
At first I was very skeptical that this would work but somehow it does!! I have tried everything and have found this app to be my sleep magician. With the timer set at 20 minutes I never hear it through to the end. On minute I am focusing on the random items and the next thing I know I am waking up! I love this app! I use it every night.
