Description

myWPEdit is a gorgeous and sophisticated WordPress client. Written by a long time blogger for blogger(s).

myWPEdit is of course ready for OS X Lion :-)
And you can of course use it for an on WordPress hosted weblog or you own installation as well.

Or in other words:

Blogging made fun and simple - and the easy way.

Just open myWPedit and start to blog.

Write with myWPEdit the same way you are used to from myWritings or Pages. Insert images by drag and drop and format text bold, italic or insert lists, blockquotes etc.

For the nerds, myWPEdit supports HTML (like the 'more tag') and if you're even nerdier - use Markdown, multiple accounts, sophisticated templates for recurring articles and autocompletion for tags and categories and of course you can import already pre-written articles directly from other Apps like myTexts pro.

In addition you can also preview the text you are working on at any time.
Published posts can also be ‘web-previewed’ at any time without leaving the App.
And because blogging often means to work with web-finds, other articles etc.
- I’ve extra added support for our Read It Later bookmarks with built-in preview.

Because we often find a typo or have to re-write a paragraph the moment we’ve published a text - the text one is currently working on is automatically saved and even available after publication – so editing a published post is a piece of cake.

And of course you can also access already published posts and because many of you really use the draft feature, they can also be accessed with ease.

Some important facts for pro bloggers with unique demands:

Accounts available: 5
Support for Custom Fields: YES
Support for Custom WP Slug: YES
Support for Featured Image: I would love to - XMLRPC does not offer this :-(
- however, image URL can be automatically used as Custom Field value :-)
Support for Pages: currently not - is in the works :-)
Support for Post Format: Standard, Asside, Gallery
Support for Custom Post Formats: YES
Timed publication, Drafts: YES
Excerpt: YES (by using the More Tag)
Editing of published Posts/Drafts: YES (the last 500)
Editing of Image HTML Code: YES
Support for HTML: YES
Support for Markdown: YES
Support for Rich Text: YES
- and best of all: no need to switch, just mix up HTML, Markdown and Rich Text

IMPORTANT: IT IS FOR WORDPRESS ONLY AND A VALID WORDPRESS WEBLOG OR ACCOUNT IS REQUIRED! PLEASE NOTE - THIS IS NOT AN OFFICIAL APP FROM WORDPRESS.ORG - IT IS A THIRD PARTY APP FROM MOAPP FOR USE WITH WORDPRESS! IF NEEDED, PLEASE UPDATE YOUR WORDPRESS INSTALLATION TO THE LATEST VERSION.

Simple and working

Don't understand the problems. Type in your credentials and that's it. Nothing else to do. Of course you need the latest WP update and you need to know what you are doing. Everything is working the way you expect it from a native Mac application. Drag-and-drop for images. Preview. Shortcuts. Auto-save. Etc. There is even a verbose manual and help and you can ask for assistance at any time. Directly built into the App.

Needs an offline mode

This app makes editing a blog slightly easier than using the native WordPress editor, but there's no huge advantage. The feature that would make it killer would be off line editing. I'd like to be able to create a series of blog entries when I'm away from my wifi connection, including pictures, and then upload everything with a single click when I can connect to the net again. That would really be great when traveling.

What you see is not necessarily what you get

This does not display your post in a WYSIWYG style at all. The text is not formatted, but rather you assign it format and you can only preview it in a separate window. This is not Dreamweaver for Wordpress. This is like a text editor and a browser to test in. Slightly more automated than that. It does allow for easy drop of images.

I plan do delete so I will not be coming back to this again. I wish someone would pull off a great wordpress editor that can handle multiple sites. This is not it.
