Customer Reviews

Could not do the job on a simple route to town

I'm going on a trip to California next month. I plan to explore some areas that probably won't have cell service, let alone data. I didn't want to lug along a GPS unit so I thought I'd use my phone and I need a program that stores maps offline. This program seemed promising but wow, it's got issues.

First, my street address doesn't exist. It exists on other mapping services so it's not like it can't be found. Secondly it does bizarre routing. I tried to select a location about 10 miles away and it turned it into an 18 mile trip. At one point during my trip it attempted to add a detour to an intersection that was a 1/4 mile away-straight ahead.

If I can't trust it to do a simple route with 4 turns, how can I trust it in an area I don't know? I've requested a refund.

I did like that I could download only the states I need, even over a data connection if needed. The interface is klunky but none of these GPS apps (or real GPS) ever seem to get that right. The graphics were fine and the voice guidance was very clear even if it did nag me about speeding when I was driving the right speed.

It would have been nice if they had some sort of trial version so I could check it out before making the purchase.

Given that this is a German company maybe their European maps are better?

Major improvement.

Apple popped this up as my previous review from years ago and now it’s fixed. "I realize this may be more challenging: why can't I put in an address in normal order: 123 street name, town name?” This removes a major irritation. I need off line navigation, so Navigon is important to me.

Better than most of the apps I’ve tried in showing you what to expect. Showing which lanes to be in for one. But the other day it was rather challenged on a five street intersection where I needed to take the second right (which was almost straight ahead, maybe 15° turn). The first right was a very hard right. The only way to figure out where we were supposed to go was study the main map display which isn’t what one what’s to do in the middle of LA traffic.

Something went wrong....

I purchased this app before my drive towards Tennessee. My intention of having this was to provide a name brand navigation system to my phone, since I did not like google that much. I used it for mainly the trip and having the speed limit was great but annoying as well. As long as you downloaded the maps in route, it worked fine. Well I downloaded all the maps and it says my calculations have failed and the route is too far.... Really, too far. So, are you telling me, I need to use shorter destinations so I can start each trip over again? Something has happened with this app... I paid 60 dollars and it's has turned into something that's not worth even getting for free. I have AT&T and an iPhone 6, it's not my service or the phone. The app needs a rehaul. I am deleting this for now. Hope you listen to your users that purchased this app, if not. More will avoid this application all together.
