Nebulous Notes is now Permanote. For continued updates, download Permanote instead of Nebulous Notes.
Upgrades: I will continue to fix critical bugs in Nebulous Notes for some time, but all new features will go into Permanote from now on.
Featured three times on Lifehacker as one of the best tools for getting things done! Nebulous Notes is the text editor of choice for professionals.
Nebulous Notes is the text editor of choice for professionals. I get emails from correspondents at BBC, writers for the New Yorker, and businessmen trying to organize their thoughts. I also just finished writing a 200+ page book myself, so I use my own app every day.
All notes in NN are backed up to Dropbox, because I care a lot about text files. Notes aren't stored in some vague format that is hard to export (think GDrive or Evernote), but rather in plain-old text files that you can point to.
Nebulous Notes is also the ONLY iOS text editor that selectively edits and syncs text files in any Dropbox folder seamlessly. It took 3 years to make it this smooth, but it's crucial because not everybody has all their text files in one single application folder.
- Open and edit all plain-text files (.txt, .md, .c, etc.)

- Note: you cannot edit Word Documents or PDFs

What's New in Version 9.2.1
Nebulous Notes is now over 5 years old! Please update your reviews. This update includes info about the upgrade as well as various bug fixes.
No compelling reason to upgrade
Nebulous Notes is being discontinued. The author has come out with a new app to replace it, and is asking $6 for this new app.
As far as I can tell, there is absolutely NO compelling reason to upgrade.
Unless you are the developer, that is. He has a really good reason for you to upgrade: $6 more in his pocket. And all this for simply changing the name of the app, dropping support on the old one and selling the old app as a new one.
The developer should be able to continue making money on his efforts. No doubt. Especially for an app this good. This is the best note taking app I've used on the iPad. If he were to come out with some compelling new features making the new app a true upgrade, then I'd seriously consider upgrading. Until then, however, I'll stick to the old one.
Ransomware - great app made useless.
Developer app took a great app, decided to drop support for everything except for 'critical bugs' and plopped out the exact same app I bought a year ago, slapped the name 'Permanote' on it and essentially demanded 6$ out of my wallet to keep the same functions I already paid for. For those of you who think TouchID compatibility is worth 6$, more power to you.
Folks, please vote with your wallets when it comes to developers like this. This developer will never get another dime from me, and I hope this review saves you from my mistake. Take your 6$ and give it to a dev who stands by their product without milking your wallet.
The app has been great. But the latest update has problems for me. Most notably the delay in typing. It takes about 15 seconds for each character. It's basically unusable that way. Also it freezes 50% of the time.
And it now begs me to upgrade to an app called "permanote" which costs money. I'm suspicious the developer may have purposefully crippled this app to force users to buy the new app. Very disappointing.
Have to search for new FAST simple note again with Dropbox sync.
