Scan your friends for their level of nerdiness. Fun trick to play on your friends. You secretly control Nerd-Alert to go off when you point it at your friends. It pings like a radar as you scan your friends and you choose when the alarm sounds indicating the presence of a nerd. It always gets a laugh. The trick is so simple, but yet very difficult to detect how you make the scanner jump from low to high as you point it from friend to friend. Your friends will inevitably want to try it for themselves (thinking they know how to set it off) just to try it and not be able to figure out how you make it work. The motion to make it work is so simple and subtle it is virtually undetectable.
*** Lie-Detector, Babe-Alert & Hunk-Alert are also available from iCOOLgeeks.
- Fun practical Joke to play on friends
- Super easy to learn the trick
- Difficult for people to detect how you do it
- Makes them laugh every time
- Great bar trick
- Possible pickup line
Give it a try! You'll be surprised how much people laugh at it and want to try it for themselves.
Does what it says
It had a low rating because some people get offended when they use "entertainment only" apps. WHAT? My phone doesn't really detect ghosts?? Yeah, sad really. Anyway, nice app. I would agree with the other reviewer who said to add option to hide the "how to" button. My only suggestion would be to add some option in that info screen to replace the graphic "Nerd Detector" with a couple other graphics -any really. E.g., Ghost, Treasure, Spammer, Odd-one-Out detector. Really anything just to expand it's use. The app works perfectly as long as u don't make ur finger motion too obvious. So, with a couple different graphics it's suddenly more than just a nerd detector. Another, easier, option would be just have an option to put a custom text box over the "nerd" part of the graphic that puts a user inputed word there (colored green so it matches) then it could be whatever kind of detector the user wanted. But hey, u've probably just did these earlier and released them as seperate apps.. But I could try. Seriously, good app. It's low review is by non-readers or shaky fingered kids! Thanks
Kind of a cool little app
Downloaded Nerd-Alert to play with it, very interesting little program and enjoyed it. One recommendation would be a checkbox to disable "how to use" feature so the secret isn't given away.
It's just a stupid rip off
