The Neuroanatomy SecondLook™ application is a study aid that provides a series of neuroanatomical images for users to self-test their level of knowledge and ability to recognize structures within the human central nervous system. The images in the Neuroanatomy SecondLookTM application were captured using the University of Michigan plastinated collection. This application was developed with the learner in mind, especially medical, dental, nursing, and other health sciences students, and lab professionals. The SecondLookTM Lite Neuroanatomy sample application is free to download and contains a representative slide from each of the available seven sets. The complete slide sets, covering Gross Neuroanatomy, Cranial Nerves, Diencephalon, Forebrain, Brain Stem, Limbic System, and Neurohistology, may be purchased as a complete mobile application. By taking a "Second Look" at these images, users are able to quickly self-evaluate and test their knowledge of the human central nervous system in order to identify gaps and to be better prepared for tests. This mobile application will also serve as an excellent review tool to prepare for licensing examinations.

Ratings and Reviews
This app presents unique value to a medical student. There is strong emphasis in our anatomy curricula to be able to identify structures on gross specimens but the majority, if not all, practice sets and references utilize illustrations. Any large Atlas like Rowan's while helpful is not a great resource to assess one's current level of mastery. This app not only provides clear histological/anatomical images, but then provides real time feedback of substructures and relevant clinical tie ins that help make this vast material make some sort of sense. Also helps remarkably with retention for exams too! E.g. I've never had someone clearly delineate the borders of the hypothalamus and dorsal thalamus before as this app did.
Great review resource for a difficult subject
Like other apps of this series, the full version of this app is a comprehensive review of human neuroanatomy. The images are very helpful to put all the parts of the human brain into a functional context and to test the learner's understanding of this difficult subject. A great teaching tool. The interface and the features of the app are intuitive and easy to use. This app is well done and has a clear didactic concept. It will help my nursing students a lot. The complete app is certainly worth its reasonable price.
Another great SecondLook review app
This is another great review app in the SecondLook series. It has the same features that make the histology and MSK anatomy apps so valuable. Easy to use and providing a quick and efficient review of the relevant material. The app tests more than just facts, but a deeper understanding of the subject. All important areas of human neuroanatomy are covered and it just takes a few minutes for the learner to get feedback whether he/she is prepared for the next test or examination.
