**The most complete app for the NYC cyclist and bike commuter***

-Interactive map featuring bike lanes and greenways of New York City.

-Obtain bike friendly directions taking into account traffic, hills and off-street bike paths. Choose from Google "Bike There" directions or OpenStreetMap bike routes provided by Mapquest. Reroute bike directions by dragging across map.

-Find closest CitiBike bikeshare docks and obtain up to date bike availability.

-Mark dangerous intersections, bike thefts, secure bike parking and bike friendly businesses and publish them to the shared map.

Bike map markings are obtained from GIS data provided by New York City. If errors are found in the map, please email with detailed information and this will be corrected as soon as possible.

Bike directions are provided by Google maps "Bike There" service. These suggested routes should not replace personal knowledge of local road conditions. If you find route errors, please submit them at to improve routing for all users.

Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.

Ratings and Reviews

Haven't found a use for this app

Dannah Egan

I bought the app based on all the good reviews, and I want to love it but so far it's been totally useless to me.

I ride everywhere and know the City bike routes pretty well but sometimes I still need a reference, particularly when riding in unfamilliar territory and/or outer boroughs.

Bike lanes are not up to date- at least not in BK. I wanted to use it primarily as an easy reference map but without every bike lane, what good is it?

I don't care where bikes have been stolen. They're stolen everywhere, all he time! Why do I need this info.

Dangerous intersections: I also don't find this info helpful (they are everywhere!) unless it pertains to bike-lane detours caused by construction or other interruptions (see below)

What I would like this app to have is the following:

Every Bike lane/path/route. Period.

An index of bike shops- for when I'm out on the road and a brake cable snaps or I get a flat and need a new tube. Also an index of places to get air would be tremendously helpful.

I would like to know when construction causes detours in heavily travelled bike lanes- like when the manhattan bridge bike path was closed and you had to take the other lane- and get dropped out at bowery & Canal into an infernal disaster of a dangerous intersection.

I would like the app to provide a viable, bike friendly alternate route/detour.

Great but Needs Some Immediate Attention

I couldn't figure out why I wasn't seeing the direction line on the map until I realized that when you have the bike lane layer on, it's the same color as the direction line. VERY CONFUSING. Please change the color of direction line or the bike lane line.

Other than that it seems really great. Well worth .99¢ Very effective twitter integration. I wonder how the stolen bike flags work. User reports? Police Reports?

I also wonder why you can't bring up Manhattan and Brooklyn bike layers at the same time. This app has got the potential to be amazing.

Handy and less battery use than Google Maps

I use this app quite often and find the Citibike stations & bike routes fairly accurate. Only wish I could see routes for different boroughs at once, and sometimes I don't agree with the directions provided (but then again, I do the same on Google!)
