Well Worth Paying For

I rarely write reviews, but this app is too good not to acknowledge it. I would give it 4.5 stars, in reality. The author does a fabulous job of describing locations - his own words and reviews, not from a Wiki or other source (at least to my knowledge). I'd had a number of other NYC apps, each with limited coverage, hard to navigate interface, etc; I wish I'd just bought this from the beginning, as it made researching what we wanted to do in NY a breeze. I particularly like how I can save locations to my favorites and then see my favorites on the map; with a place as vast as NYC, strategically hitting places you want to see by neighborhood is an absolute must, so this app has become my only "go to" for exploring (with a little Yelp and Google Maps of course). The recent update seems to have solved some minor stability issues (it could crash occasionally) and the offline content downloads. Extremely minor interface glitches sometimes come up, but are not at all a detraction. My only wish list for this (and why I knocked it down a half star) is that I'd love to save my favorites to multiple devices. I do my research on my iPad, but then am exploring the city on my iPhone; I wish I could synchronize across my devices so I don't have to save a favorite twice. Otherwise, this is well worth the $5, particularly because you can ask the author questions - its like having a tour guide on standby!

Really buggy

Clunky, buggy app that is very awkward to use. Deleted it.
