Ratings and Reviews
Does anyone @ N&O actually use this delivery ap?
Everyone responsible for the e-edition must be reading the print edition! Obviously no one there actually has tried to read the paper on a daily basis using this failure of an ap. It has a one star (mandatory) rating! Apparently no one is bothering to read the reviews either
If resolution and navigation issues are not corrected by the end of my current subscription, it will not be renewed. I am copying this review and will email it to customer service in hoses that someone sees it
The most recent update fails terribly on many counts.
Resolution is poor when enlarging text and photos. My eyes are burning and watering after five minutes of use.
Navigation buttons are too large and intrude on the page over the far left or far right column.
New pages automatically resize requiring you to resize to your preferred setting.
Pop up ads appear repeatedly at the bottom of the page. This is a paid subscription, not free access supported by annoying ads. These pop ups are in addition to a full pageant that appears between regular pages when scanning from one page to another.
Unless these issues are addressed, I will not be renewing my subscription.
Can I get the previous app version back please?
Terrible, and I’m being nice. I read the paper on an iPad, side by side pages, just as I would read the paper at the table. But this version, yuck! Who ever wrote this app didn’t get it that the even numbered page goes on the left and the odd numbered page goes on the right. Then there’s the maximum number of downloaded papers. In the old version, I could set the number. In this version, nada. So when the app tells me that I’ve reached the max number, I need to manually delete the back issues before I can download the new edition. This ain’t rocket science, but this new version really misses the boat.
Very User UNfriendly
I wish there were a zero rating. While the inconveniences and annoyances are too numerous to list, there’s one that really gets me. I frequently jump to Google, Google Earth, etc. in the middle of an article, and then want return to the same article...but NO! Regardless of which page I was on, I’m forced back to page 1A and then can either flip page-by-page back where I left off or, if I really want a challenge, I can scroll through the tiny index trying to click on individual article links that are far too small for normal-sized fingers.
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
