Not good

First off, ads, ads, ADS! Enough with the ads already! As if there weren't enough ads in the paper itself, the app inserts more. Secondly, the app has a host of annoyances such as the zoom function slightly overshoots the screen size so you have to resize, but when you do the image moves & jerks around and seemingly resizes itself making it difficult and frustrating to get the size you want. It frequently hangs and has to be force-quit and relaunched, etc. It also seems power-hungry -- my battery drains quickly while using this app. The prior abandoned e-edition app was much better, before ios10 killed it (though it also had some major problems).

The N&O has been reducing content and increasing prices for years so I suspect the ads and poor app quality are signs of financial problems. Sad.

Video ads autoplay between every few articles you open but they open a few seconds after the article. Very annoying.

Host of other problems too. Very amature quality app and website. Their writing isn't any better. Recently an article totally confused EMV credit cards with RIFID cards which was full of patently false information. Their "videos" look like a 10th grade journalism project and that might even be an insult to some 10th grade journalism programs.

Very poor for a digital media company

For a company that has stated its goal is to excel in digital media, this app is a poor showing. It is difficult to use and difficult to navigate. There is no search function, or function to restrict stories by date. The "print" version is even worse, with a very touchy interface, and loads of ADDITIONAL ads. Unfortunately, if one wishes to subscribe, one is forced to use this interface.
