Great, if you’re millennial

Pros: It’s got many good and interesting news stories. Content is varied and there’s plenty from which to select.

Cons: really only one big one. Virtually all the stories presume you’re a millennial. When I select the “career” category every story that comes through presumes I’m early in my career and looking to get ahead. Every article the “investing” category produces presumes I’m early on in my financial planning journey. All “relationship” articles are only really relevant for people under 35. Even articles not specifically directed at millennials are nevertheless written in a millennial vernacular, using broad references, slang, and that almost casual, conversational reporting one expects from a blog or a BuzzFeed survey. I may be closer to 60 than 30, but reading news articles full of outdated advice (for anyone over 40, anyway) and pop culture references begins to get tiresome.

As a result I seldom access the app anymore, only browsing when I’m bored.

Not very thorough/doesn't respond to dislikes

This app contains a wide variety of news. However it does not always stick to its subject, for instance, it may have the subject of pandas, but instead of talking about pandas it might talk about cars. It also could use a lot more pictures to make it more enjoyable as an entertaining app. I have found that it does not cover any of its subjects very thoroughly. Also, when you dislike something, it often doesn't give the topics that news quip is about, so there often is nothing you can "dislike". Plus even when you've disliked something, it doesn't remove other quips in the same subject. I especially do not like sports but they keep putting them in there because the names of sports teams are usually animals, like the Philadelphia eagles. I am interested in Eagles but not in sports teams. But the app will not listen to me. I’ve gotten pretty disgusted with it.

Good but not superb.

(I wish I could upvote or mark-as-useful some of the reviews here.) I fully agree with the review by LA2047 (q.v.). News360 is definitely ageist and I’m about LA2047’s age.

Nonetheless, I poke around News360 daily. I added a potload of specific feeds by name to make sure I get a fair sampling from all over. (It was danged time-consuming to find and add all those sources.)

My very biggest two gripes with News360 are:

- Items are not displayed strictly in order most recent to older. You may see a one-day-old item then scroll two or more screen’s worth to find an item an hour old. Not good.

- Once you view an item it disappears forever. If I see an article and later realize my wife would enjoy it, I know of course that I should not check the mirror for a blue face from holding my breath expecting to find it again.

There are also lots of crap items—pure ads—on News360. But we may expect that the News360 folk have to make a living through promotional content. (And now...a word from our sponsors…)
