Turn your phone or tablet into a live video production camera.
NewTek’s NDI™ (Network Device Interface) is a low latency IP video protocol developed especially for professional live video production, and is supported by an extensive list of broadcast systems from many manufacturers.
NewTek NDI Camera™ turns your iOS imaging devices into high-quality wireless a/v sources for NDI-enabled broadcast systems on the same network. Your device’s output is automatically recognized by NDI-enabled video systems, ready to be mixed into live shows.

App works great with TriCaster mini
I purchased this app so I can use mobile devices as additional video camera sources. I’m using a TriCaster mini HD-4 with Advanced Edition software. This app must be used on the 5 gigahertz band on my router. It will not work on 2.4 gigahertz band. On my iPad I only get 4:3 aspect ratio. There is no option to switch to 16:9 in this app. That is why I give it only 4 stars. The camera app that is standard with the iPad 9.7” will switch to 16:9 with a double tap on the screen. All of the other features work very well with this app. Newtek needs to update the app so it can switch to 16:9. When I receive the video on the TriCaster it is 4:3 and doesn’t fill the 16:9 input screen. So I have a black vertical band on each side of the picture. I like the app, it is a great way to get some very unique camera shots.
Worked w xsplit , but 20$= NO OPTIONS, NO UPDATES, and uses 30mbit for SD?! 56mbit for 720p??
This app actually works, and I got a high-quality video stream to Xsplit, from my iPhone 7 plus w iOS 10, to xsplit on win7.
The only thing keeping this from a five star rating, is that (for a 20$ app!!) there are absolutely ZERO options to set/change in the app.... For example you should be able to lower the frame rate, or the quality/res, or something to reduce the bandwidth utilization... with these type of options this could actually be a functional useful tool/app.
BUT WHAT THE?? 32 mbit of actual throughput being used for a SD video stream w audio disabled!?!? ... if I tap the HD option, the bandwidth utilization across my Wi-Fi AP was a constant 50 to 57 Mbit ... of course you are going to have drop soon as they start moving away from their asses enterprise he's receiving a consistent 60 actually throughput TCP stream while the user moves around (we were testing this in a open air convention center venue too btw).
Really a waste of great potential here...
Not worth 20 dollars
Honestly, the quality didn’t seem all that great. It wasn’t horrible per se but it wasn’t at a level that would allow me to say I would use this as a video source.
Sitting in one place, with the phone sitting on the desk, there were obvious dropped frames between my phone and the receiving end. The AP I was using was less than 5 feet away and is an Enterprise grade wireless network designed and optimized for streaming audio/video.
All that said, the app does do what it says in that you can use your iPhone’s camera in different production scenarios.
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
